WORLD PHYSIOTHERAPY DAY 2024 ACTIVITY REPORTSThe Indian Association of Physiotherapists is compiling reports of World Physiotherapy Day activities conducted in India, in order to submit to World Physiotherapy (WCPT).Activity reports can be sent by :- IAP & IAPWC State committees (State team can create one combined report, which includes state's & districts activities)- Colleges or hospitals in IndiaReport should contain :- Short summary of each conducted activity followed by photographs.- Report should be in WORD DOCUMENT OR PDF OR POWERPOINT FORMAT only.- Once the report is submitted, no edits/resubmission will be accepted.Report should be emailed to [email protected] with CC at [email protected] date to send is 12th September, 2024.

When done correctly (and there are multiple ways) it looks something like this: 1. early stage rehab: PT or AT 2. Mid stage rehab: PT or AT 3. Late stage rehab: AT or CSCS 4. Return to Performance: CSCS This graph is a case study of a basketball 🏀 athletes who is 9 months post-ACLR. For simplicity, only jump height is shown. Difference between a newbie and an experienced Physiotherapist Understanding the nuances of Exercise program design! I recently spoke to a fresher regarding what exercises he would be planning on the first session for a woman with xyz pain? He told me 20 different exercises that he knew about the condition that he would teach the client. The problem with this approach? It doesn't take into account- 1)The extent of the condition 2)The level at which the patient is at(for example I cannot choose #tantrums in the very first session for a #hamstringstrain in an elderly runner) 3)Version of the exercise to be given(progression or regression) 4)The role of other biological factors say fascia, muscles, etc. 5) The bigger picture-The end goal the client has 6) The future(how will you build the exercise plan and sustain sessions for a week, month or longer) When it comes to Physiotherapy Exercise Program Design Less is more- Be specific with your exercises.Eaxh exercise should have a reason to be in the program. #Progression is king- If you are not progressing the exercises,you are doing a disservice to the client because muscles respond to #overload and without it, your client is just on a maintenance program at best. And also Do not keep on adding new exercises, progress the older ones too. Look at the bigger picture- Make sure you know the goal the client is working towards. Devise a month long plan of exercises and try and execute the same. Think about #stability, #mobility, #strength locally as well as globally. Did I miss anything? Comment below.
