Difference between a newbie and an experienced Physiotherapist Understanding the nuances of Exercise program design! I recently spoke to a fresher regarding what exercises he would be planning on the first session for a woman with xyz pain? He told me 20 different exercises that he knew about the condition that he would teach the client. The problem with this approach? It doesn't take into account- 1)The extent of the condition 2)The level at which the patient is at(for example I cannot choose #tantrums in the very first session for a #hamstringstrain in an elderly runner) 3)Version of the exercise to be given(progression or regression) 4)The role of other biological factors say fascia, muscles, etc. 5) The bigger picture-The end goal the client has 6) The future(how will you build the exercise plan and sustain sessions for a week, month or longer) When it comes to Physiotherapy Exercise Program Design Less is more- Be specific with your exercises.Eaxh exercise should have a reason to be in the program. #Progression is king- If you are not progressing the exercises, you are doing a disservice to the client because muscles respond to #overload and without it, your client is just on a maintenance program at best. And also Do not keep on adding new exercises, progress the older ones too. Look at the bigger picture- Make sure you know the goal the client is working towards. Devise a month long plan of exercises and try and execute the same. Think about #stability, #mobility, #strength locally as well as globally. Did I miss anything? Comment below. If you want to learn how to devise #exercise programs,DM me and I will try my best to help! P.S-Capturing the vibe at Chaayos where I used to study to stay abreast with new physio research while sipping hot chai during my maternity leave! 🌟 Less is more: The Hidden Power of Subtraction 🌟 In physiotherapy, we often feel the pressure to add more ➕ - more techniques, more tools, more approaches. But what if the secret to greater satisfaction and professional progress lies in subtraction? 🤔 🔍 Research shows we're wired to improve by adding rather than removing. But success often comes from eliminating what no longer adds value. In this article, I explore: ▪ Why subtraction may enhance our practice ▪ The hidden benefits of simplification ▪ If embracing subtraction can reduce burnout & and increase satisfaction 👉 Read the full article here https://lnkd.in/esdPtpA8 #Physiotherapy #Essentialism The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy Greg McKeown

On a monthly basis, I get asked by patients and parents if I would recommend studying and consider PT as a career, which I like to think sprouts from their admiration to the hard work, and appreciation to the level of professionalism provided at our services. Generally, I would talk about all the enjoyable aspects of Physiotherapy (as I’m quite biased and love my job), however I try to keep it real with how REAL it can get in the working life. PT is definitely a branch of the healthcare system that’s not for the weak. Here is part 1 of this series, where I tried to keep all the points short and sweet. #physiotherapy

“Which Field Of Physiotherapy Is Best” "Shriram Medical College offers a comprehensive physiotherapy degree that prepares students for a variety of specializations. A person's interests, professional aspirations, and personal preferences all play a role in determining the optimal area of physiotherapy for them. Find out more about the many subspecialties of physiotherapy and how they could apply to your life with the help of this all-inclusive guide. ## Personal Preference Shapes Ideal Choice A physiotherapist's area of expertise is mostly a matter of personal choice. When you work in an area that truly excites you, you're more likely to enjoy your work and advance in your career. Before making a final selection, take stock of your hobbies, skills, and the aspects of physiotherapy that bring you the most satisfaction. ## Assess Interests for Best Fit Before settling on a physiotherapy specialty, it is essential to determine your areas of interest. Give some thought to the physiotherapy specialties that pique your interest. Which type of patient population most interests you: young people, athletes, the elderly, or those with neurological disorders? To find the ideal field for you, it helps to know what you like. ## Orthopedics Offers Musculoskeletal Expertise When it comes to musculoskeletal problems, orthopedic physiotherapy is all about diagnosis, management, and treatment. Anyone with an interest in assisting people in their journeys to full health following musculoskeletal injuries, surgeries, or other conditions would do well to pursue a career in this area. As part of their job, orthopedic physiotherapists offer rehabilitation and preventative services in a variety of settings, including hospitals, clinics, and sports facilities. ## Sports Suits Active Lifestyle Enthusiasts A career in sports physiotherapy could be ideal for you if you love being physically active and have a strong interest in sports. Physical therapists specializing in sports help athletes avoid harm, perform better, and get back on their feet after suffering an injury. You can find job openings with rehabilitation clinics, fitness facilities, and sports teams in this ever-changing industry. ## Neurology Addresses Neurological Conditions Conditions affecting the nervous system, including MS, Parkinson's disease, and stroke, are the focus of neurological physiotherapy. A thorough familiarity of the neurological system and its effects on movement and function is essential for this area of expertise. Physiotherapists specializing in neurological conditions devise individualized treatment plans to boost patients' independence, stability, and quality of life. ## Pediatrics Focuses on Child Care Infants, children, and teenagers are the primary focus of pediatric physiotherapy. Treating pediatric patients with developmental, neuromuscular, and orthopedic issues calls for a caring attitude and specific training in this area.

Love these points. Another crucial thing physios stop doing is learning about exercise prescription. I recommend studying more about Strength and conditioning in addition to Research to know the Basics!
