Radical results require radical changes! Its not naive nor too ambitious. It could not have come at a better time. There are approx 25,000 public schools of which approx 23,500 cannot offer extramurial activities due to a shortage of coaches, equipment and infrastructure. The coach shortage is north of the number of schools and the current teacher corps are buried in admin and overfilled classes. This is an extremely positive step in the right direction of DCAS and I am very happy to see the gap bridged between the two departments. If this is managed correctly, we will see a drastic improvement in the cognitive and physical development of our youth, specially at foundation phase where it has to start. This is how a nation create a winning culture, by making the young kids participate in structured play sessions in their masses at a young age.
