Golf: A Game of Life Lessons There's a reason why golf is often compared to life. While casual observers might see it as simply hitting a ball into a hole, golfers understand the deeper truth: it's a mental game. As you begin playing, you realize the clearer your mind, the better your shot. The experience itself changes depending on whether you're playing alone, with someone new, or a familiar opponent. Numerous thoughts and feelings come into play, making it a true test of self-control – it's you versus you. The 18 holes on the course can also be seen as a metaphor for life's journey. You might encounter some bad holes, setbacks, or frustrations. But just like in golf, you always have the chance to bounce back and improve on the next hole. #TIPSGOLF ⛳ Problem: I'm negative, I only see the glass as half empty. On the course, I see myself missing out, I can't help it. 🏌️ Make no mistake, what you believe about yourself is by no means definitive. You're just a victim of your habits and, no doubt, your upbringing. Just about any brain can learn to think well and any normally constituted body can produce good golf. You're no exception. Becoming positive simply requires some effort, some decisions and some awareness of the moment: Here's how to go about it: 🔹 Look at the time on your watch or phone. 🔹 Then decide to have no negative thoughts for 24 hours. 🔹 If you catch yourself thinking negatively - which you're bound to - don't judge yourself harshly. 🔹 Simply note that you've just had a negative thought. 🔹 Look at the clock again and start again for 24 hours. 🔹 On the course put a cross on the scorecard for each negative thought and count them at the end of the game. The brain is self-correcting, and will make the negative disappear as you become more aware of it.
