How lovely it is to learn more about the individuals who teach our young people.

Week two is complete and the weekend has really mixed up the leader board. All teams have managed to reach Glasgow and all but 3 have managed to reach Broadacre North Allerton. Atletico Building Systems still take a clear lead already making it past Manchester Airport, Their progress is so substantial that they could potentially jet off for a few days and still maintain their lead. There is tough competition for second place and the race is on to see who can be the first to see the boys in blue at Everton Stadium, with only 2 miles between teams Completely Floored and Not Fast Just Furious. Walking 9-5 have dropped off slightly leaving 31 miles between them and second place, but I’m sure this will only spur them on. The Pacemakers have benefitted greatly from their transfer and with their new addition they have took a lead over Scrambled legs and are only 9 miles behind 5th place, the Stroll Patrol. 2Excel Aviation has made a donation from its Community Fund to STAMFORD RUGBY UNION FOOTBALL CLUB LIMITED towards the construction of a new clubhouse that aspires to become a hub for local sports and recreation.   The club wants to replace its current outdated facility with a modern, purpose built one to provide a venue for the local community that can offer somewhere fit for potential uses beyond rugby alone.   Chris Norton, Director and Co-founder of 2Excel Aviation, said: “As an employee-owned business, building value for all our stakeholders is not just monetary.   “Our organisation’s Social Value approach commits us to enhance the experience of everyone and everything our business interacts with, including people, other businesses, suppliers, local communities, and the environment.   “Through our Community Fund we are able to provide Stamford RUFC with a donation towards the creation of an asset that will enrich the lives of its local community, which also includes some of our employees.”   Jai Nairn, Club President at Stamford RUFC, said: “We are very grateful to 2Excel for its generous donation towards realising our dream.   “Our plan is to create a venue that not only complies with Sport England and RFU requirements but can also be offered for other sporting disciplines which our current premises can’t accommodate.   “Research with people in the local area tells us that the community wants somewhere for other sport and exercise, and for groups for art or music; a space for people of all ages to meet and socialise.   “Using locally sourced materials, incorporating a sustainable energy system, and creating a fit-for-purpose car park, we envisage the new facility will be of great benefit to the local area as a whole.”   For more information about the club, and the plans for the new clubhouse, https://lnkd.in/eMVH-mHG

Great initiative by World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry (WFSGI) While major brands invest big dollars in sponsorship, it is easily forgotten that the Olympics are not just a stage for the mega star athletes to perform but a universal arena for all 10'000+ athletes worldwide to come and compete. Equal access to quality sporting goods to perform is often neglected. Many #NOC National Olympic Committees struggle to meet the demands of their athletes to compete in the most optimal conditions. 2% of Olympians will benefit from this initiative. This doesn't seem a lot but it means that 500 athletes have been training and managed to qualify for Paris2024 without benefiting from top-quality equipment...
