About us
Myriad USA is the leading resource for philanthropic giving overseas – a trusted advisor to individuals, families, corporations, and foundations seeking to support their favorite causes, anywhere across the globe. Myriad USA brings together the expertise of the King Baudouin Foundation United States (KBFUS) and Give2Asia, uniting two longtime partners. KBFUS changed its name to Myriad USA in January 2024, and under this new brand now provides donors with a simple and efficient platform to support nonprofit initiatives around the world. Myriad USA offers several services to U.S. donors and foreign nonprofit organizations, including: Donor advised funds, Legacy funds, Disaster response funds, Corporate Plus Advisory Services, Myriad ART for gifts of artworks, and American friends funds for foreign nonprofits seeking to raise funds in the United States. Myriad USA is also an experienced ‘philanthropy architect’ – we adopt a flexible approach and develop tailor-made solutions when needed. Others are active in the field of international giving, so what makes us different? Myriad USA is built on a better, more generous model that leverages local expertise and prioritizes flexibility. Our board and our team reflect the regions and communities we serve. We share the passion of our nonprofit partners and welcome them to our offices in New York City, where they can host meetings or catch up on work. Through our programs, we spotlight social innovators and enable foreign nonprofits to learn more about successful development strategies. In addition, we provide great customer service, work with dedicated fund managers, and our fees are competitive and transparent. Myriad USA is a U.S. public charity within the meaning of Sections 501(c)(3) and 509(a)(1) of the Internal Revenue Code. Donors are eligible for a U.S. income tax deduction for their contributions, to the extent permitted by U.S. tax law.

In 2021, anthropology professor Heidi Larson joined forces with public health professor Pierre Van Damme to create a new kind of action research organization. The Global Listening Project (GLP) uses in-depth interviews, focus groups, surveys, and other research tools to gain a better understanding of people’s experiences, hopes, and fears, generating insights that are essential to building the trust that enables societies to prepare for crises and increase their resilience. By building a deep well of knowledge about people’s levels of trust, Larson believes the GLP can enable policymakers to make more informed decisions. “You need to hear what the issues are from the people who know what’s going on,” she says. 🎻 A Melody of Generosity: Myriad USA receives 317-year-old Stradivarius Leading American violinist and teacher Charles Castleman donated his 1707 “Marquis de Champeaux” Stradivarius to Myriad USA. This exceptional 317-year-old instrument is now on loan to the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel—a world-renowned training center for outstanding musicians based in Waterloo, Belgium—where it will accompany future generations of talented young violinists as they develop their careers and prepare for international music competitions. “As a violinist, my job is to bring music to people. I also want to pass on music to future generations through my students. For me, this Stradivarius, therefore, belongs in an institution where the next generations are preparing for their future and where the level is fitting for this instrument. The Music Chapel is in line with my wishes and close to my heart,” says Charles Castleman. Through Myriad ART, we help donors navigate the cultural, legal and tax complexities involved in giving artworks to cultural institutions based abroad. 📈During our recent board meetings, I witnessed firsthand the impressive growth and impact of Myriad USA, Myriad Canada and Give2Asia, together with the King Baudouin Foundation members of the Myriad Alliance. The strides these organizations have made in their respective regions are truly inspiring. Their dedicated teams are making significant contributions to their communities, driving positive change and fostering innovation. I am proud to be part of such a dynamic and forward-thinking network. 🎖️I also had the honour of introducing the winner of this year’s KBF Prize Lydia Charles Moyo from “Her initiative” who empowers African women and girls to start their own business using an innovative digital platform. 🤵🏽♀️The gala that celebrated Her Initiative with a distinguished gathering took place at what was once the home built by Henry Villard in the 1880s in New York City. If they were around today, I’d like to think that Henry and his wife Fanny Garrison Villard would find a valuable partner in the Myriad Alliance for borderless giving – as their extraordinary philanthropy extended not only across the United States but also involved generous donations to schools and hospitals in Henry’s native Germany. 🕰️More than a century later, Her Initiative provides a wonderful example of what we at KBF and the Myriad global giving network offer: a chance to make a truly transformative difference across the world. Thank you for the warm welcome Birger Stamperdahl , Benoit Fontaine and Jean Paul Warmoes 🙏! Good to see you Freda Lam Zietlow, CFA, NACD.DC, Filip Vanden Bulcke, Ahmed Fahim, Ellena Fotinatos Sheena Agarwal, Kady Sylla, Mélina Emdadi, Ly Tran and Rebecca Stibbe, MA, CAP® . And thank you for the unforgettable company and road trip Stefan Schäfers , Ludwig Forrest and Jérémie Leroy 😅
