Connecting Canadians to their favourite charitable causes, anywhere in the world.
About us
Myriad Canada, formerly KBF CANADA, was established at the initiative of the Brussels-based King Baudouin Foundation. We work with Canadian donors to manage charitable projects in the United States, Africa, Asia, Europe, Central America and Latin America. We are registered with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) as a charitable organization and oversee charitable projects abroad. We craft personalized solutions for one-time gifts or recurring donations through Donor Advised Funds. We provide the due diligence and oversight that charitable projects require in order for donors to receive charitable tax receipts for their gifts. The way in which projects are carried out and donations are spent is tightly controlled and monitored, and is governed by two priorities: have a clear and concrete impact, and minimize management fees as much as possible. Myriad Canada is a member of the “Myriad Alliance for Borderless Giving” which was developed in response to the substantial obstacles presented by international giving. With offices in Canada, the US, Europe, Asia Australia and New Zealand, Myriad unlocks the potential of charitable giving and international solidarity – from anywhere, to anywhere. Myriad Canada has access to a strong international network and extensive practical expertise and knowledge as a result of 44 years of relationships built through the KBF family. The King Baudouin Foundation based in Brussels was set up in 1976 and currently holds $2 billion in endowment and donor-advised funds and has an annual operating budget of approximately $150 million. Our shared values are independence, integrity and transparency, diversity and international solidarity.

[Myriad Canada's new initiative to provide emergency services through charitable activities on the ground with non-profit organizations in Lebanon.] At Myriad Canada, we believe that education is a lifeline—especially in times of war. In Lebanon, 60% of public schools turned into shelters to house the 1.2 million displaced people, over 350,000 children are without schooling, caught in a cycle of fear, loss, and uncertainty. But even in the face of such challenges, the drive to learn remains strong. In response, Myriad Canada is working with CodeBrave Lebanon, to provide emergency education and bring hope to these young minds. CodeBrave offers game-based coding and robotics classes in shelters, combining hands-on learning with emotional support for children experiencing stress and anxiety. Since 2018, CodeBrave has been empowering vulnerable youth across Lebanon with tech skills in coding and robotics, focusing on building literacy, numeracy, and science skills. Their innovative programs not only provide education, but offer stability, hope, and a sense of normalcy in the midst of crisis. With over 2,435 young people upskilled —CodeBrave is giving Lebanon’s youth the tools they need to break the cycle of poverty and create a brighter future. Donate now to support these vital educational programs, so that Lebanese children have access to life-changing education despite the challenges they face. As many of you know, I moved to Lebanon a few years ago to focus on supporting grassroots organizations doing tremendous work. Many people were confused by my decision, but Lebanon has a way of stealing your heart and calling you back to the land. I've been so grateful to be able to live, work and build community in Beirut. Since mid September however, the Israeli aggression escalated dramatically in the capital leaving me no choice but to evacuate (temporarily) like so many others. It's been an unimaginably difficult few weeks. All across the country people of all walks of life are being profoundly impacted. 1.2M people are now displaced, 60% of public schools have become shelters, and over 350,000 children are left without education. Hundreds of thousands of children have been forced from their homes, struggling with fear, loss, and uncertainty. But the one thing that has given me hope in these dark days - is seeing how children’s drive to keep learning hasn’t stopped. From sitting outside on the side of the road with their laptops to join a class, or continuing to study when the one room they have is being shared by 30 family members - these kids wont give up. I'm launching an Emergency Fundraiser for Lebanon to run education at shelters for the displaced. This is being done in partnership with CodeBrave Lebanon and Myriad Canada. CodeBrave Lebanon is providing emergency education in shelters focused on building basic literacy, numeracy and science skills through game-based coding and robotics classes. Game-based education is shown to be one of the most effective ways to keep children learning in high stress environments while providing a much-needed escape from the chaos around them. Education is a lifeline that must continue—even in times of war. Your donation will fund more children receiving quality education at shelters. Donations from Canada, US and UK are tax deductible, see the links below. Every amount helps, and if you are not able to give - please share this far and wide with others. Thank you so much. ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ - For Canada: https://lnkd.in/e2m7nsZd - For US: https://lnkd.in/eZcJWjRE - For UK: https://lnkd.in/eECFeMaX

[Myriad Canada's new project to uplift impoverished communities in remote villages of Vietnam and Cambodia] Despite rapid sustainable development in Vietnam and Cambodia, a large majority of the population is facing economic hardship. Millions of people, notably in rural areas, experience persistent poverty due to inadequate healthcare and prevention services. Debt and disability remains driven by limited access to banks and high education costs. This financial burden deters children from completing their schooling, pushing them to resort to low-paying, dangerous jobs. Women and girls are particularly vulnerable, as these circumstances can lead to domestic abuse. To help these communities, Myriad Canada is proud to announce a new project with our implementing partner Mekong Plus - L'Officiel. Project goals include delivering training and microcredit to over 1,000 households a year to boost their incomes, 3,500 scholarships to children and preventative health training to at least 1,000 woman per year. Mekong Plus (MPlus) is an international NGO founded by Belgian and French volunteers, dedicated to reducing rural poverty in Vietnam and Cambodia. Since its expansion into Rumdoul, Svay Rieng, in 2009, MPlus has implemented programs in agriculture, health, and employment for local women. The organization focuses on improving living standards, particularly for women and children. Its mission emphasizes collaboration with local partners to foster sustainable development and enhance the capacity of disadvantaged communities. #youth #HumanitarianAid #education #SupportWomen Myriad Alliance Fondation Roi Baudouin Give2Asia Myriad USA To find out more and support this project: https://lnkd.in/ee2RNPC3

Last Wednesday, at the “International Cooperation Futures Forum” organized by Cooperation Canada, our Executive Director Benoit Fontaine took part in the session “The Future is Philanthropic: Engaging and leveraging philanthropy for global impact”. This session, moderated by Shannon Kindornay, Chief Operations Officer, Cooperation Canada, discussed opportunities for engagement between philanthropy and other actors to build a better world. Among the topics discussed were the importance of advocacy to achieve a systemic goal, of being long-term oriented and flexible (not only in narrative but also in practice!), of promoting a culture of transparency with implementing partners, of working with local leaders and of supporting a culture of philanthropy in developing countries. Many thanks to the other speakers for their contributions! - Jennifer Brennan, Senior Director, Canada Programs of Mastercard Foundation - Katie Porter, Senior Advocacy Officer at Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation - Katharine Im-Jenkins, Managing Director of Equality Fund - Kimberly Cernak, Managing Director of Eleanor Crook Foundation - Caroline Kouassiaman, Executive Director of Initiative Sankofa d'Afrique de l'Ouest (ISDAO) - Vinod Rajasekaran, CEO & Editor-in-Chief at Future of Good Myriad Alliance Fondation Roi Baudouin Myriad USA Give2Asia Myriad Australia The Gift Trust
