𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆! 🌟 Today, we're diving into Virginia’s exciting progress on vehicle electrification thanks to collaboration across counties, schools, and state departments. 🚗🔋 Fairfax County is working toward a 100% carbon-free fleet by 2035. With support from US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Dominion Energy, they’ve already added electric buses and trucks. Fairfax County Public Schools are doing their part too, adding 73 electric buses to their fleet! In Alexandria, the city aims to have 25% of its fleet electric by the end of this fiscal year. Despite some delays, they’ve brought in 65 EVs and hybrid buses. 🚍 Even rural areas like Pennington Gap are joining the EV movement, installing charging stations with help from Virginia Clean Cities. This shows that electrification can succeed even in regions with lower vehicle usage. 🔌 On a statewide level, Virginia has allocated $39.9 million for battery-electric buses, and The Virginia Department of Transportation has already implemented EV options from GEM and Waev, driving the transition forward. Steer is proud to announce our collaboration with Transport for the South East to support pioneering work on forecasting EV charging demand from commercial fleets. 🚗 Commercial vehicles may be a smaller part of the UK's fleet, but they drive a larger share of miles and emit a significant amount of greenhouse gases. Commercial fleets are projected to consume nearly half of the energy required for e-road transport. However, the electrification of these fleets is hindered by the lack of reliable, conveniently located, and cost-effective public charging resources. Our work with TfSE assists local government authorities in developing commercially viable public/private charging ventures to attract private capital. 🚚 Commercial fleets need reliable charging infrastructure to electrify 🚚 Investors require insights on traffic, demand, and cash flows to make informed decisions Join us in shaping the future of EV infrastructure for commercial fleets. #EV #evs #electricvehicle #electriccar #evcharging #steer #evs Learn more about our initiative here: [Link to the article]

The Central Florida Expressway Authority (CFX), in partnership with ASPIRE and ENRX, is testing a new technology that allows electric vehicles to charge while driving on the roadway. This technology uses wireless induction charging, where energy is transferred from ground coils to a receiver pad under the vehicle through electromagnetic induction. The system can detect when an electric vehicle is above it, ensuring safety for all drivers. This innovation aims to accelerate the transition to electric vehicles and improve roadway infrastructure nationwide. The ENRX Charge 200 kW Electrified Roadway Technology is capable of powering all vehicle classes, including passenger cars, delivery vans, and heavy-duty trucks and buses. Successful tests have demonstrated high efficiency and power output, with potential for significant impact on future urban mobility. California Hits Another EV Milestone: 100,000 Public Chargers WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: 100,000 public or shared private electric vehicle chargers have been installed throughout California, which is on top of over 500,000 at-home chargers. This comes just weeks after the approval of a $1.9 billion plan to build a bigger, better charging network. SACRAMENTO – Today, Governor Gavin Newsom announced that California has surpassed 100,000 public and shared private electric vehicle chargers installed statewide, just weeks after unprecedented funding was approved to build a bigger, better network of charging and refueling infrastructure for zero-emission cars, trucks and buses – the most extensive network in the nation. This is on top of more than 500,000 at-home chargers that Californians have installed for personal use. https://lnkd.in/gZjiMYUQ

Interesting new study into the charging requirements to enable electric long haul truck operations across Europe The number of estimated MCS charging stations that would be required is less than previously calculated and this study also doesn't take into account depot charging Some of the numbers are a little eye watering - 12 Gigawatts of power will be required at some sites to support 20 MCS chargers! But it also highlights that it's not all about MCS and CCS will also have an important part to play The next 10+ years is going to see a complete transformation of the truck industry, very excited to be part of this at MAN Truck & Bus UK #ev #evs #electricvehicles #electrictrucks #charging #charginginfrastructure https://lnkd.in/eFjdtw9X
