We're excited about an ⚡ electric transportation ecosystem backed by a unified approach to charging with SAE International J3400—glad to see InsideEVs agrees!

Deploying EV chargers quickly and efficiently requires visibility into the electric grid. Specifically, EV charging developers need to know how much power is available at the locations they’re scouting as future stations for drivers to plug in. 🔌 A new publication by Atlas Public Policy and Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) explains how “hosting capacity maps” increase transparency about available on-site power, which is valuable for developers and utilities because it by reducing costs and accelerating timelines. Congratulations to the U.S. DOT for announcing new grants for the Strengthening Mobility and Revolutionizing Transportation (SMART) program, established to provide grants to eligible public sector agencies to conduct demonstration projects focused on advanced smart community technologies and systems. Ft. Collins, CO, receives a SMART grant to "significantly expand its electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure that will be integrated into a smart grid EV charge management solution (CMS), enabling the City to rapidly expand its fleet of EVs in alignment with its 2030 emissions reduction targets while simultaneously providing benefits to the electric grid and the entire community of Fort Collins." ⚡ See the full list: https://lnkd.in/gsr5pW9e

This falls squarely in that, in that it helps to solve a very real problem of charging an electric vehicle and that has a domino effect. It allows consumers to be more comfortable with electric vehicles, which means that we start to move toward a lower emission vehicle with a lighter carbon footprint."
