The Department for Transport (DfT) in the United Kingdom is taking steps to overcome a major barrier to electric vehicle (EV) adoption. According to Fleet News UK, the DfT has launched a grant for EV drivers without driveways to install charge points. The move is expected to encourage more people to switch to EVs and promote sustainable mobility. How do you think this will impact the EV industry? Share your thoughts! #mobility #ev #electriccars BVRLA The AA Department for Transport (DfT), United Kingdom

Steer is proud to announce our collaboration with Transport for the South East to support pioneering work on forecasting EV charging demand from commercial fleets. 🚗 Commercial vehicles may be a smaller part of the UK's fleet, but they drive a larger share of miles and emit a significant amount of greenhouse gases. Commercial fleets are projected to consume nearly half of the energy required for e-road transport. However, the electrification of these fleets is hindered by the lack of reliable, conveniently located, and cost-effective public charging resources. Our work with TfSE assists local government authorities in developing commercially viable public/private charging ventures to attract private capital. 🚚 Commercial fleets need reliable charging infrastructure to electrify 🚚 Investors require insights on traffic, demand, and cash flows to make informed decisions Join us in shaping the future of EV infrastructure for commercial fleets. #EV #evs #electricvehicle #electriccar #evcharging #steer #evs Learn more about our initiative here: [Link to the article]

The Electrification of Mobility can be a challenging. Especially when it can comes up to align with local authorities in regards to public charge points as per the article below. It highlights that a much more combined approach between all members of an eco system need to work together to pick up speed in the transition. What other challenges do you face as Fleet owner who wishes to switch over from ICE cars to EVs? Contact and join NovAzure's ecosystem and get access to events to share best practise with other fleet owners / peers and discuss your challenges with a number of stakeholders, including public charge point operators and councils. https://lnkd.in/dkhVbtH6 www.novazure.com

Bristol Cars™ 8.0 - Failed EV Infrastructure in the UK Did you know that over a century ago, Bristol relied heavily on electric trams and infrastructure for public transport, thanks to the pioneering efforts of Sir George White, Bt? The Times highlights today the reality that a G8 country like the UK is facing a significant crisis in its EV infrastructure. The impending EV car crash seems inevitable unless urgent government intervention and policy alignment take place, a challenging task given the current fiscal constraints. Interesting new study into the charging requirements to enable electric long haul truck operations across Europe The number of estimated MCS charging stations that would be required is less than previously calculated and this study also doesn't take into account depot charging Some of the numbers are a little eye watering - 12 Gigawatts of power will be required at some sites to support 20 MCS chargers! But it also highlights that it's not all about MCS and CCS will also have an important part to play The next 10+ years is going to see a complete transformation of the truck industry, very excited to be part of this at MAN Truck & Bus UK #ev #evs #electricvehicles #electrictrucks #charging #charginginfrastructure https://lnkd.in/eFjdtw9X

Can lamppost and bollard charging help Local Authorities meet OZEVs ambitious targets? 🤔 Stuart Wilson, ubitricity’s UK Market Unit Lead, dives into the crucial question for Current-news.co.uk 🔋 With the launch of the zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) mandate in early 2024, the UK government proposed one of the most ambitious regulatory frameworks for the switch to electric vehicles (EVs) of any country in the world. The ZEV mandate will require 80% of new cars and 70% of new vans sold to be zero emission by 2030, and 100% by 2035. 🚗 As EV adoption continues to grow, these targets emphasize the urgent need for local authorities to roll out accessible and convenient charging infrastructure. Lamppost and bollard charging solutions could be key to meeting these ambitious goals. Learn more about why large-scale EV charging rollouts are essential for Local authorities here: https://lnkd.in/et5c3AB8
