The Department for Transport (DfT) in the United Kingdom is taking steps to overcome a major barrier to electric vehicle (EV) adoption. According to Fleet News UK, the DfT has launched a grant for EV drivers without driveways to install charge points. The move is expected to encourage more people to switch to EVs and promote sustainable mobility. How do you think this will impact the EV industry? Share your thoughts! #mobility #ev #electriccars BVRLA The AA Department for Transport (DfT), United Kingdom

Steer is proud to announce our collaboration with Transport for the South East to support pioneering work on forecasting EV charging demand from commercial fleets. 🚗 Commercial vehicles may be a smaller part of the UK's fleet, but they drive a larger share of miles and emit a significant amount of greenhouse gases. Commercial fleets are projected to consume nearly half of the energy required for e-road transport. However, the electrification of these fleets is hindered by the lack of reliable, conveniently located, and cost-effective public charging resources. Our work with TfSE assists local government authorities in developing commercially viable public/private charging ventures to attract private capital. 🚚 Commercial fleets need reliable charging infrastructure to electrify 🚚 Investors require insights on traffic, demand, and cash flows to make informed decisions Join us in shaping the future of EV infrastructure for commercial fleets. #EV #evs #electricvehicle #electriccar #evcharging #steer #evs Learn more about our initiative here: [Link to the article]

The #CROSS-E project focuses on the realization of high-powered electric vehicle (EV) charging points along key routes and ports across Europe tailored to light and heavy-duty electric vehicles (LDV & HDV). The four companies selected (Allego, Petrol Group, GreenWay, and Emobility Solutions) will install 838 recharging points for LDVs (150 – 350 kW) and 73 recharging points for HDVs (350 kW) at 239 locations. They will operate across eight EU Member States: Croatia, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Belgium, Italy, and the Netherlands. The project will invest €130M with a total grant of €34.45M from the European Union and is scheduled to be finalized by October 2026. #fastcharging #infrastructure #Europe https://lnkd.in/eV9zVcYE

#EVCharging #ElectricTruck #ElectricShips #MegawattChargingStandard #MCS #MelissaWilliams #HilmarVanDenDool #ShellMarine "Shell Marine just opened a novel new megawatt charging station designed to service both land-based and ocean-going battery-electric vehicles. Dubbed “Megawatt Charging System” by Shell Marine, the DCFC station is fitted with two unique boom arms, one to service trucks and one to service boats. Shell hopes the design will help reduce the costs associated with adding chargers for vessel operators by promoting a single common charging system standard for trucks and material handlers onto seagoing vessels, it will allow the many vehicle classes commonly found at busy seaside ports to use the same infrastructure without duplicating infrastructure investment. “We believe this solution will be helpful for shipping companies that control and operate logistics businesses across the supply chain,” explains Shell Marine President Melissa Williams. “(They) often have facilities that serve both water side and land side.” “There are not that many electric trucks and vessels yet, so with this we’re investing ahead of the market that is growing quickly,” says Hilmar van den Dool, General Manager eMobility at Shell. “It is in line with our ambition to provide more and cleaner energy solutions.” The sea/land DCFC station was installed at the Energy Transition Campus Amsterdam (ETCA), Shell’s electric innovation center in the Netherlands. The site also houses a wide array of renewable infrastructure demonstrators, like battery-powered EV chargers and a hydrogen electrolyzer. Shell hopes to roll out additional examples of its new sea/land charging solution at other sites. ..."
In case you missed it, the very first Truck and Marine #MCS charging station was unveiled yesterday in Amsterdam. MCS is great for charging large-format batteries for commercial vehicles that roll, dig, float, and fly. Great to see this adaptation. #StopBurningStuff https://lnkd.in/dvsN7JJ4

A new study in the UK shows that 42% of fleet operators expect over half their vehicles to be electric by 2030, and 78% are investing in onsite private charging. Many are adopting a mixed-energy fleet strategy to ease the transition. As fleet managers tackle route planning issues and technology limitations, managers are focused on how to navigate this shift towards a greener future. FMT is working with businesses to merge onsite charging with onsite refuelling to help manage a mixed-energy fleet. I expect the adoption of heavy vehicles to be slower in Australia and the US, but most light and medium fleets are expected to have some EVs by the end of the decade. #fleetmanagement #EV #fleetstrategy #fuelmanagement

Open and running 🔙💯🏁⚡️ GM Energy / Pilot Flying J Travel Center 488 State Rte 61, Marengo, OH 43334, USA https://lnkd.in/eKw3wday "Ohio is charging ahead. These additional stations mark significant progress in establishing a charging network for EV owners traversing the Buckeye State," said Ohio Department of Transportation Director Jack Marchbanks "We look forward to opening more charging stations in the next several months." “We are pleased to join Ohio in celebrating the addition of two more NEVI-funded EV charging stations through federal investments made possible by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law,” said Federal Highway Administrator Shailen Bhatt. “With over 184,000 EV chargers across the country today, we’re rapidly expanding and building a national network of 500,000 publicly accessible charging stations by 2030 that will reduce range anxiety, boost consumer confidence in purchasing electric vehicles, and invest in a clean future.” Ohio was the first state in the nation to open an electric vehicle fast-charging station funded by the NEVI program late last year. In addition to the three new stations that are now open, 13 new fast-charging stations are currently under construction with several locations expected to open in the coming weeks. Another 29 locations are in the planning phase and expected to be constructed later this year and in 2025. Ohio is expected to receive $140 million total to deploy electric vehicle charging infrastructure. The state has invested more than $30 million in NEVI funds to date, which is matched by nearly $10 million from private developers. https://lnkd.in/exu-TRgW DriveOhio
