The economic development in Germany is currently under a lot of pressure. This is also visible in my area of passion the #automotive industry and the transition to #e-mobility. But we believe that a pivot is possible. Here is our latest perspective on “A pivot for Germany – All for growth and growth for all”. Quite interesting article 🚀🚀🚀. While it discusses identifying targets and optimizing portfolio companies, it’s also important to consider the challenges associated with integrating businesses into existing operations. Cultural fit, retention of key people, comparability of systems and focused value creation activities are further important factors for a successful M&A transaction.

🚗 The German government has set an ambitious goal: 15 million battery electric vehicles (BEV) on the roads by 2030.   However, it is very unlikely that this number will be met, as our recent #BCG study with the German think tank Agora Verkehrswende shows. At the current pace, we will fall short by about six million vehicles by 2030. Our calculations show that increased import tariffs on Chinese cars would even widen the gap. Overall, depending on the range of potential measures, investments of 45-65 billion euros would be necessary in the coming years.   Achieving the 15 million target will require well-coordinated regulatory initiatives and thus planning security for the OEMs. From an industry perspective, uncertainty in the market is always a bad scenario. The car industry is one of the key pillars of the German economy, securing millions of jobs. Working with German OEMs on a Mobility (you still say Automobile) Strategy since 2008. They know since 15 years or more what they have to do: they just have to do it. The CxU has stood in the way of innovation in mobility and energy for over 16 years - transportation ministers and the VDA have torpedoed all chances of change: bringing us up to this point. And you continue to ask the wrong people for strategy, and have the wrong people to execute: and anyone aware and watching this sees that the VDA and yourself are complicit.

I listened to Accenture's #tomorrowtoday Podcast with Hildegard Müller (VDA) and I was really impressed by... ... the many facts and figures Ms. Müller supports her arguments with. Here's an extract. The whole #cariad case shows beautifully that if you can’t build software in-house you probably can’t outsource it. If you can’t build up a software organization and unleash its potential within our software focused world. You probably can’t create a company that does it. Especially if you hard wire it to the incapable structures within the parent company.
