First times are always scary: 📍First day swimming 📍First time driving 📍First time public speaking 📍First day at a job etc But we overcame that fear by turning to someone - a friend, coach, YouTube etc At the end we could see that taking the leap is all that matter, no matter how small. The first step may not be perfect, but you have to take the imperfect action, and adjust as you go. Take the first step towards that project, Idea, call etc you've stalling on. Saturday mornings at our place aren’t much different from weekday mornings. We wake up early, one of us heads off to work, and the rest aim to be at the swimming pool by 9 AM. 😉 I don’t mind the early start to take the kids swimming. It’s a life-saving skill everyone should master, and like any sport, it builds perseverance. I see it as an opportunity for growth. (And looking at the photo below, honestly, the place itself isn't too bad, is it? 😉) I want my kids to understand that mastering anything, no matter how difficult it seems at first, requires persistence. If you keep trying and practicing, your skills will improve over time. I also want them to learn that growth happens when we face challenges. You don’t grow by staying in your comfort zone. Every new skill takes time, effort, and patience to master. So, I remind myself, my kids — and I remind you — always believe in yourself and don’t give up. Because if you give up, you’ll never learn or achieve anything. 😘 #perseverance #growth #confortzone

Couldn't swim just 2 months ago...now watch me work. I couldn't be more proud of this moment. This was my last class after 2 months. I've almost drowned about 10 times in the past. I might take some more classes in the future, but I'm good for now. I got what I needed, which was to stop being afraid in the water, float, and learn basic swimming. Seems like all 3 were accomplished. Using this as a reminder to conquer your fears. If you figure out how to move forward despite being terrified, the less it'll have a hold on you. You'll grow. This doesn't just apply to finances. This is for every facet of your life. I now have an essential life skill under my belt. Imagine what victory could be yours if you moved past your fear. First, you have to name it. I was introduced to competition as a 10&U, but I wasn’t mature enough to experience “me vs. me” until college swimming. I’ve just recently come to the point in my professional life that is equivalent to the amount of time I was a competitive swimmer. In short, I know what it means to have “some skin in the game.” Some think I always talk about swimming, but swimming is just a tool. What I promote goes way deeper than swimming. My experiences taught me to imagine myself a winner, and then execute. I’ve learned that recovery is hard, but with focus and consistency, it can happen more quickly. I can breathe deeply to stay calm and face my faults, not only to hold myself accountable, but to also be changed. None of this makes me better than anyone, but I’ve experienced people that thought so. Little do they know, regardless of achievements, accomplishments, or perceived confidence, I’m often looking to improve. And again, the battle is “me vs. me.” Bravery and passion are in me, permanently. God designed my heart to combat fear, and I’m thankful for the tools to help others do the same. In the midst of new circumstances, celebrations, downfalls, or people that have come and gone, I take inventory of my evolution. This helps me reconnect to my foundation if I ever feel lost. I’m tempted to go on… but ultimately, I plan to continue sharing and forming bonds that will support a life designed to love myself, inspire the new generation, and connect with my Heavenly Father. I hope my writing will help someone to be bold, and to remember that authenticity isn’t for followers… it’s for believers. My Ancestors Smile When We Swim:
