Final call for any comms peeps who fancy a change and would like to join our fab team in Hywel Dda. Two Senior Communications Officers posts available. Applications close at 23:59 tonight (so, get a wriggle on 😉 ). I've had a few conversations with some really interesting prospective applicants. Some of the questions they've asked: 🤸♀️ Do we offer flexibility? Yes. The NHS has some great flexible working policies and we're a really supportive team - we all have a life outside of work and we step in to support one another. 💪 Does my age matter? No. Your experience does, how many miles you've clocked up on your odometer doesn't. ✅ I'm not sure I meet all the criteria, should I still apply? Yes. Focus on what you can bring, not what you're yet to learn/do. 🌍 I don't have experience of working in the NHS, does that matter? No. We're looking for diversity of skills and experience in our team - imagine how boring it'd be if we were all the same! ✨ Is there someone lined up for the job already? No. Our processes are open and we're looking to appoint the best candidates. If you have any questions, send me a quick message. If you're sat on the fence and thinking "do I, don't I" - do! Details in link below. https://lnkd.in/esMdbYjd

I find myself in what I call my 'Peter season,' where I am not merely walking on water but also walking in alignment with God's calling. I am excited to share my journey of being 'tricked into my destiny'—becoming a legal practitioner. A heartfelt thank you to Yvonne Shabangu and Employment Wednesdays for featuring me in the Law Without Borders episode. It's an honor to be recognized, and my heart overflows with gratitude for the opportunity to share my story. #law #lawgraduate #lawwithoutborders #contracts #contractsadministration #procurement #legal #drafting #CA #candidateattorney #articles

Not all connections are bad Be intentional about creating meaningful professional relationships/connections in professional spheres This covers two of the rules relating to the code of conduct of pharmacists and that is Continuing professional development (CPD) and Co-operation with health care professionals. I gave a speech as the University of the Western Cape Association of Pharmacy Students Chairperson in our final year ball, one thing that I have highlighted is that we came to varsity as strangers but weren't exiting the same way, relationships have been formed and they will be beneficial going forward in our career paths. cultivating positive connections in professional spheres is essential for career growth, collaboration, professional development, job satisfaction, networking, conflict resolution, and fostering a positive organizational culture. By investing in building and maintaining meaningful relationships with colleagues, supervisors, and industry peers, you can enhance your success and fulfillment in the workplace. One of the benefits of networking, building positive connections expands your professional network, which can be beneficial for career advancement and job opportunities. Networking allows you to exchange ideas, learn from others' experiences, and stay informed about industry trends. A robust professional network can provide referrals, introductions, and access to job openings. #Pharmacy #health #professional #Networking #medical

Important opportunity for my network, including my UTS BCII grads! If you’re not already aware of it, deliberative democracy helps address overly politicised decisions and policy-making by enabling random, representative mixes of citizens to consider info, deliberate and prepare common-ground recommendations like a criminal jury does. Non-profit non-partisan research house newDemocracy trained me to facilitate these processes and advocates daily for them to be used on decision-making at all levels of gov and in the private sector. If you’re ready to put your personal politics aside and champion one of the few tangible solutions to today’s systemic challenges, check out the job ad below!
Some personal news – doesn’t happen often – maybe hasn’t happened ever! I’m leaving newDemocracy in January to join FIDE - Europe (for one year!). I’ve worked at newDemocracy for just over eight years now. It has been an incredible experience where I’ve had a front-row seat to what we now call the “Deliberative Wave” and the opportunity to lead and foster its growth in Australia (and overseas!). I am grateful and owe a lot to Luca, Kathy Jones, Carson and Iain for their mentorship. I’ll be keeping one foot in the door to support the team with ongoing projects while we transition to less of me but that also means that we are hiring for an Operations Lead to take over project and organisational management. If you’re interested or know of someone who would be great please point them to: https://lnkd.in/gzGrst6S The role will involve learning about deliberative democracy on the job so no experience requirements there. The ideal candidate is someone with strong critical thinking skills, personal organisation, and—crucially—the ability to decouple from their political views while working at an independent non-partisan organisation. I can't recommend the job enough. I’m looking forward to working closely with all my European deliberation friends. My goal is for 2025 to be an intense year of exchanging knowledge and experiences. In that spirit, I’m always available to provide advice on whatever deliberative processes people are working on, and I hope to observe as many different citizens' assemblies as possible – please get in touch!

90% of the jobs advertised on LinkedIn do NOT require a degree. And yet 90% of the jobs advertised on LinkedIn ask for one. Personally, I don't care whether you have a degree or not - I care whether you can do the job. Medicine, Law and other professions that DO require a degree aside... Should Employers require candidates to have a degree when the job they're advertising doesn't actually require one? We really should rethink how necessary a degree is to be successful in a specific role today.
