Final call for any comms peeps who fancy a change and would like to join our fab team in Hywel Dda. Two Senior Communications Officers posts available. Applications close at 23:59 tonight (so, get a wriggle on 😉 ). I've had a few conversations with some really interesting prospective applicants. Some of the questions they've asked: 🤸♀️ Do we offer flexibility? Yes. The NHS has some great flexible working policies and we're a really supportive team - we all have a life outside of work and we step in to support one another. 💪 Does my age matter? No. Your experience does, how many miles you've clocked up on your odometer doesn't. ✅ I'm not sure I meet all the criteria, should I still apply? Yes. Focus on what you can bring, not what you're yet to learn/do. 🌍 I don't have experience of working in the NHS, does that matter? No. We're looking for diversity of skills and experience in our team - imagine how boring it'd be if we were all the same! ✨ Is there someone lined up for the job already? No. Our processes are open and we're looking to appoint the best candidates. If you have any questions, send me a quick message. If you're sat on the fence and thinking "do I, don't I" - do! Details in link below. https://lnkd.in/esMdbYjd

What skills are required to be a competent public health professional in the 21st century? ( PS: In the context of NGO/INGO sector). These are essential to perform daily functions in any organisational setting. 💡 Data analysis 💡 Program management 💡 Communications or people skills 💡 Advocacy 💡 Travelling 💡 Adaptability 💡 Working with communities 💡 Photography/videography/storytelling Though the person might not be an expert on any of this but it just shows how demanding public health jobs can be.

In early March, I was actively looking for job opportunities in the Public Relations & Communication sector. While browsing Career Jet, I stumbled upon a posting for a Communications Assistant position at La Lucia Healthcare Hospital and decided to apply. Recently, I received a call purportedly from Justice Nene, claiming to be the Senior Human Resources Officer at the hospital. On the call, he stated that I had been selected for the interview process and directed me to the hospital's website, www.laluciahospital.com, to prepare. Curious, I decided to conduct further research. As I searched for La Lucia Hospital online, alarming information surfaced. Numerous articles and mentions on platforms like Google and Facebook labeled the hospital as a potential scam. Reports indicated that individuals were asked to pay significant sums of money to supposedly secure an advantage in skipping the interview process. Upon reflection, I realised several red flags. Firstly, I had not received an official job offer email, a standard practice in legitimate hiring processes. Secondly, there was no attempt to reach out via the hospital's official phone lines as he had contacted me with his personal number (082-317-7427). This experience serves as a cautionary tale for fellow job seekers, especially recent graduates eager to kickstart their careers. It underscores the importance of exercising caution and due diligence when navigating the job market. Scammers prey on the vulnerability of individuals seeking employment, and it's crucial to remain vigilant. I urge anyone currently seeking employment to tread carefully, scrutinize job offers, and verify the legitimacy of companies and communication channels. By sharing my experience, I hope to raise awareness and prevent others from falling victim to similar schemes.

Not all connections are bad Be intentional about creating meaningful professional relationships/connections in professional spheres This covers two of the rules relating to the code of conduct of pharmacists and that is Continuing professional development (CPD) and Co-operation with health care professionals. I gave a speech as the University of the Western Cape Association of Pharmacy Students Chairperson in our final year ball, one thing that I have highlighted is that we came to varsity as strangers but weren't exiting the same way, relationships have been formed and they will be beneficial going forward in our career paths. cultivating positive connections in professional spheres is essential for career growth, collaboration, professional development, job satisfaction, networking, conflict resolution, and fostering a positive organizational culture. By investing in building and maintaining meaningful relationships with colleagues, supervisors, and industry peers, you can enhance your success and fulfillment in the workplace. One of the benefits of networking, building positive connections expands your professional network, which can be beneficial for career advancement and job opportunities. Networking allows you to exchange ideas, learn from others' experiences, and stay informed about industry trends. A robust professional network can provide referrals, introductions, and access to job openings. #Pharmacy #health #professional #Networking #medical
