Can't say I'm surprised by the findings of this 2024 Gartner Study of senior marketers. 40% reported CFO's and CEO's as being the most skeptical of marketing in their organization. In this same study, I did find it interesting that 52% reported being successful in proving the value of marketing. B2B marketers know we should be doing all these things, but recent research shows many are clearly not practicing what works best. 𝟭. Sounds like 101, but the data indicates only 18% of B2B marketers create ICPs or research-based personas. 𝟮. 𝗣𝘂𝗿𝘀𝘂𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗮 𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗲-𝘁𝗼-𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 Jason Ball writes that "true differentiation makes you more successful across every category" and has the data to prove it. With this model, we're able to suggest to the consumer a broader range of vendors that suit their needs, increasing our flexibility and monetization opportunities at the same time. Our initial test will be within the moving industry. If it performs well there, we’ll expand to other verticals. As always, my mission is to ensure compliance while delivering superior value to clients. And finding new ways to do this is quickly becoming essential.
