🚁 They Fly With Us 🚁 From Manual Piloting to Advanced Robotics - The Evolution of Flying-Cam In 1995, we undertook one of our most complex missions, Daytona500, using manual piloting, pushing the boundaries of human capability in remote control flying. Fast forward to 2016, we collaborated on Game of Thrones, utilizing our unmanned helicopter, SARAH. This project showcased the seamless integration of our advanced autopilot and robotics, combining flight design and simulation between Autodesk Maya and our autopilot system. At Flying-Cam, our technology is constantly evolving. While many perceive it as merely filming, they often overlook the sophisticated technology involved. We fly fast, close to actors and architecture, and often in challenging weather conditions—making it one of the most demanding industries. Given the inherent potential risk with all aviation it is extremely important to use the best possible equipment. In the world of modern BASE jumping this setup provided by Air Sports Group, is it. The tracking suit works on the same principal as a wingsuit but is built with pure speed in mind, it is a rocket in the sky whilst allowing for maximum mobility on the exit point and immediate control of the parachute after deployment. The parachute system is also industry leading with an unbeatable balance between flight characteristics, aerodynamics and safety. It features an integral climbing harness for Alpine locations, an ABX system which counters asymmetrical input from the pilot as well as a number of other features which drastically reduce the chance of parachute malfunctions. The helmet is fitted with a communications system, a GPS unit and a releasable camera mount.
