Where should Advocacy sit in your company Planhat just published an interesting report "The Untapped Potential of Customer Marketing" (Thank you Irwin Hipsman for bringing this to my attention). One key finding from the report is that the role and placement of customer marketing within the organization remains somewhat ambiguous. 🚩 In smaller businesses, Advocacy initiatives are equally shared 50/50 between customer marketing and customer success 🚩5% of CS teams in mid-larger enterprises are responsible for community and events, from 20% in smaller businesses 🚩 40% of customer marketers are responsible for product engagement and enablement in mid-larger enterprises Historically, I've believed that Customer Marketing should spearhead advocacy initiatives.
