true loving relationship with God? Throughout Lent a box will be at the entrance to
St. Augustine’s for your prayer petitions. Bring your petitions with you and place in
the sealed box. This box and contents will be burnt in the Easter Vigil fire,
symbolizing our entering into the Easter season with a clean heart.

After five weeks of providing parking assistance and observing

parking issues in our lots, the following is an update:
St. Augustine’s Church Parking Rules:
No Parking on the sidewalk and street directly in front of the church from the
Dominion Street entrance to Mountain Road.
No Parking around the front steps (only the two parking spots by the side door on
Mountain Road).
No Parking within five feet of the elevator ramp.
No Parking near the elevator ramp unless someone in the vehicle has a
disability (leave about seven parking spaces for these parishioners).
Do Not block other cars in the parking lots.

At the 11:00am mass on Sunday, for those arriving 10 minutes before mass and after the
start time, it is highly unlikely there will be a parking spot in the main parking lot by the
church. The only reason to drive into our lot 10 minutes before mass and after the start time
is to drop people off.

It is our goal to have the red pylons out for every mass by the elevator entrance and around the front steps to
prevent parking in these areas.

We received approval for weekend use of two additional parking lots: Youth Impact Jeunesse, 536 Moun-
tain Road, which is a one-story brick building with a Canadian flag on the roof. It is the first building to the
north of St. Augustine’s Church on the same side of Mountain Road. The parking lot has room for 30 vehicles
on both sides of the building. Access is available from Shirley Avenue or Limerick Street.

Chris-Roi Church, 300 Dominion Street, has room for 50 vehicles and is located across from Chris-Roi
Church and beside the Club D’Age D’Or Christ Roi. Access is available from Dominion St. or High St.

For those parking on the street, please follow all New Brunswick Department of Motor Vehicles Regulations
and City of Moncton bylaws; this includes not parking withing 10 meters (32 feet) of a stop sign. For the next
several weeks, at the 11:00am Sunday Mass, for those arriving late and having difficulty finding parking and/
or not aware of our parking rules and new lots, we will have someone at the back of the Church providing an
information handout.

Denouncing oil pollution in Nigeria

Nigeria is Africa’s largest economy and biggest oil producer. Despite oil exports worth
billions of dollars, millions of Nigerians remain in poverty and face food insecurity. In
the south, pollution and contamination by the oil industry are causing great hardship.

Lenten Walk with the Lord – 40 Acts of Kindness An additional or optional way to
enhance and enrich your Lenten commitment and experience. “Lenten Walk with the Lord”
invites you to do one (1) simple act of kindness for each of the 40 days of Lent. There is a
calendar which will be placed at the back of the church to help you keep track of your
kindnesses along with some simple instructions to help guide you. For example, kindness
can be as simple as a ‘smile’ and often begins at home.
