TRAINING OF VARIOUS MINISTERS IN OUR CHURCH! Have you ever considered offering your services
as a reader, a Minister of the Communion or by helping out in other functions required for the masses, please
fill out the form at the back of the Church. Thank you for your help!
WE WELCOME YOUR INPUT...As many of you are aware, the renovations to the kitchen did not go
as smoothly as initially planned. It was not that the planning was off, but rather the “unknowns” upset the ap-
ple cart. As the demolition of the existing kitchen area progressed, we were made aware that to proceed, the
electrical and plumbing systems had to be completely upgraded to meet codes, cracks in the foundation walls
had to be repaired, rotting washroom floor required replacement, along with other unknowns that continued to
delay the progress of the project, (not to mention the increase to the cost). The project is 95% complete, and
we scheduled our Annual General Meeting on Saturday September 21st at 8pm. We will provide complete
details on the project at the AGM. Our profit & loss statement for the year included several fundraising
events planned to help replenish the bank account. Due to the delay in the renovations, these did not
happen, so now we need your input. We want your suggestions as to fundraising activities/events that our
parish should consider, over the coming months. Give this request some thought and drop your suggestions
into the basket at the back of the church. You can sign your name, but this is not necessary. Please start pro-
moting our new facility as a great place to rent to hold a special function such as a corporate Christmas party,
anniversary celebration etc. The hall will accommodate 90+ people comfortably. It can be rented as a hall
only, hall plus the use of the kitchen, or a fully catered event. For the latter, we will be talking to “chefs” who
could be interested in providing the catering service. Watch for the notice of the AGM in our
bulletin! (Respectfully submitted by your Pastoral Council).
