FROM FATHER RICH
Last weekend we celebrated Vocation Weekend. Thank you for supporting priests, deacons, seminarians
and vocations to the priesthood and religious life through your prayers and donations for the Seminary System
in our Archdiocese. Last weekend we collected for the Seminary $7,014.50 during the second collection.
I want to remind you abut the meeting with the Archdiocese representatives this coming Wednesday,
October 6th at 7:00 p.m. in the church. All parishioners are invited to attend. This meeting is a part of the proc-
ess that is used in our Archdiocese to select the new pastor for the parish. The main idea is to listen to the pa-
rishioners; what are the parish strengths and needs and who would be the best candidate to become the shepherd
of the faithful. In a special way I want to invite the one who sends anonymous letters to the Cardinal on behalf
of others saying that St. Albert the Great Parish needs a fresh start and that she will never be happy with the
priests who are in our parish now. I ask everyone to take courage and participate in the meeting speaking up or
filling out the form which will be given during the meeting. We priests and parish staff members won’t be at
that meeting but we’ll pray to the Holy Spirit for all of you and for the future of St. Albert the Great Parish.
The Perfect Pastor
ST. ALBERT THE GREAT CANDY SALE The perfect pastor preaches exactly 10 minutes.
He condemns sin roundly but never hurts anyone’s feelings.
He works from 8am until midnight and is also the church janitor.
The perfect pastor makes $40 a week, wears good clothes,
drives a good car, buys good books,
and donates $30 a week to the church.
He is 29 years old and has 40 years experience.
Above all, he is handsome.
The perfect pastor has a burning desire to work with teenagers,
and he spends most of his time with the senior citizens.
He smiles all the time with a straight face because he has a sense
of humor that keeps him seriously dedicated to his church.
He makes 15 home visits a day
and is always in his office to be handy when needed.
The perfect pastor always has time for church council and all
of its committees.
“I’ll take the plain chocolate bar,
Father ...I figured you would want the He never misses the meeting of any church organization
chocolate with amens!” and is always busy evangelizing the unchurched.
The perfect pastor is always in the next church over!
God Bless! Fr. Rich

SCHOOL NEWS
FEAST OF ST. FRANCIS – BLESSING OF ANIMALS
On Monday, October 4, 2010 we will celebrate the Feast of St. Francis. St. Francis was a very holy man who was an
excellent steward of the beautiful world that God made for us. He dearly loved all of God’s creation, especially the
animals. We will have a blessing of animals at 2:30 p.m. (dismissal time) on Monday, October 4th. The blessing will
take place at the St. Francis Prayer Garden located just off the south parking lot of the school. This is a very fitting
way to show that we, like St. Francis, love God’s creatures in a special way.
FALL CRAFT FAIR: The Parent Association of St. Albert the Great School is holding their Annual “Holiday Craft Fair
and Vendor Show” on Saturday, November 6th, 2010, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Rogers Hall. If you are a crafter and
would like to participate, please call the school office at 708 424-7757.
WENDY’S COMMUNITY NIGHT
The next Wendy’s Community Night will take place from 5 to 8 p.m.
on Wednesday, October 20th, at the Wendy’s located at 79th & Harlem.

the back of the card. There is a website that you can check where the card is valid.
The website is www.valucard.com. Each purchase will come with a merchant guide

OD KS. RYSZARDA
W ubiegłym tygodniu obchodziliśmy Święto Św. Wincentego z Paulo. W naszej Parafii mamy
pojemnikach.
Zapraszam Grupę Młodzieżową, klasy 7 i 8 z Polskiej Szkoły i całą młodzież naszej Parafii
Na 6-te spotkanie Młodzieży Polonijnej Archidiecezji Chicago w sobotę, 16-go października, 2010
od 9:00 a.m. do 1:30 p.m. w Kościele Św. Ferdynanda 5900 W. Barry, Chicago. W programie
Msza Święta i spotkanie z Kardynalem Franciszkiem George oraz video o pracy misjonarzy
w Ekwadorze. Po więcej informacji i zgłoszenie proszę o kontakt z kancelarią parafialną
708-423-0321. Proszę rodziców o zachęcenie młodzieży do wzięcia udziału w tym dniu
skupienia.
