As the world acknowledges #WorldMentalHealthDay, we proudly acknowledge allied health professionals, and the ways that they work to improve mental health. We also stand with the World Health Organization to raise awareness about the connection between mental health and the workplace. A safe and supportive work environment is essential for protecting mental health, but harmful conditions like stigma, discrimination and harassment put it at risk. With 60% of the world’s population in the workforce, as a community it's time to take action. It is essential for governments, employers, the organisations that represent workers and employers, and other stakeholders responsible for workers’ health and safety to work together to improve mental health at work. Action to address mental health at work should be done with the meaningful involvement of workers and their representatives, and persons with lived experience of mental health conditions. By investing efforts and resources in evidence-based approaches and interventions at work, we can ensure that everyone has the opportunity to thrive at work and in life.

As we move forward from World Mental Health Day, we remain focused on the essential role mental well-being plays in creating a healthier, more supportive workplace and care environment. At People First Healthcare, we acknowledge the critical importance of mental health in both our work and the wider community. In the healthcare and aged care sectors, we witness firsthand the profound connection between mental and physical well-being. As caregivers, it's essential that we not only support the health of those we care for but also prioritise our own mental health and that of our colleagues. A strong, resilient workforce is the foundation for delivering compassionate and effective care. We understand that mental health is not just about awareness but also about action. That’s why we are committed to fostering an environment where mental health is a priority for our staff and consumers. From open conversations to mental health resources and support programs, we strive to make well-being a part of our everyday culture. As we reflect on this important day, we reaffirm our commitment to mental well-being and remind everyone in our organisation and beyond that seeking support is a sign of strength, not weakness. #MentalHealth #MentalWellbeing #PeopleFirstHealthcare #WorkplaceWellness #CareCommunity #CompassionateCare

Today is World Mental Health Day, and this year’s theme of prioritising mental health in the workplace resonates deeply with me. I truly understand the critical role mental health plays in our overall well-being. In a time where there are many pressures on our time and in multiple forms, its easy to feel overwhelmed. I am proud to work for an organisation that takes mental health seriously and I am personally committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment where everyone feels valued and heard. And to the incredible healthcare professionals who tirelessly care for others, I recognise the immense pressure you are under. Your mental health is just as important as the care you provide, which is why there is a need for industry to innovate not only to enhance patient care but also to promote your well-being. Let’s work together to make mental health a priority in our workplaces. By supporting each other, we can create a healthier, more resilient community. Together, we can make a difference. #WMHD2024 #WorldMentalHealthDay2024 #WorldMentalHealthDay #MentalHealthAwareness #Wellbeing #molnlycke
