It’s awesome to see more people talking about mental health. While more employers are catching on, not many have formal plans in place to support their team’s mental health. SafeWork NSW took a closer look at how businesses in NSW are tackling mental health at work. The study showed some medium-sized businesses are really stepping up – with a whopping 12.5% more than in 2017 making serious efforts to address mental health. Go them! 🙌 But here’s the reality check – despite this progress, only 7% of businesses have really gone all-in with mental health support. That’s not as high as we hoped, which tells us there’s still a way to go. That's why employers play such a crucial role in looking out for their staff's mental health. Let's keep the conversation going and make mental health support a priority in every workplace. #mentalhealth #wellbeing #mentalhealthmatters #mentalhealthawareness

Mental health is a priority—and it should be supported not just in policy but in practice. When I started prioritizing my therapy appointments, I made it a point to discuss it with my direct supervisor. I explained how important it was for me to take that time, even during the workday. The support and understanding I received were transformative. Knowing I had the freedom to take care of myself without hesitation or guilt gave me the confidence to balance my personal and professional life. TL;DR: Managers, leaders—when you trust and empower your people to take care of themselves, they’ll show up for you, your team, and your organization with renewed energy and commitment. #MentalHealth #Leadership #WorkplaceWellbeing #SelfCare #PeopleFirst
88% of HR and benefits leaders identified #mentalhealth as a top priority for the next two years. And as Karishma Patel Buford says, effective mental health support requires commitment at every level of your organization. 🤝 Today’s employees need support that reflects the diversity of their challenges, backgrounds, and cultures. In fact, 73% of employers seek resources that offer culturally responsive care across regions and countries. ➡️ Discover more insights on how you can support your team in the new year and beyond in our downloadable guide to #workplace mental health. https://lnkd.in/gjP5_qg9
