🌟 Australian Core Data for Interoperability (AUCDI) Release 2 Patient Summary component is now available for community comment! 🌟 This component version of AUCDI contains only Patient Summary content to allow a focused review and support an iterative development process of AUCDI. A full AUCDI Release 2, which supersedes AUCDI Release 1, will be published in June 2025, containing all of the content from AUCDI Release 1 plus the content from this component release. We are continuing to work on AUCDI Release 2, focusing on developing a Chronic Disease Management component and look forward to releasing this for community comment in early 2025. The Sparked program has adopted an open and consensus-driven approach, involving stakeholders from various sectors in regular workshops and feedback sessions. We invite community feedback on the first draft until COB Friday 17 January 2025, ahead of the final release scheduled for mid-2025. 📆 The community comment period for AUCDI Release 2 Patient Summary Component closes on Friday 17 January 2025. It was wonderful to see the increased numbers of people bringing an allied health perspective to the Sparked AU Clinical Design Group yesterday! Just in time as we begin to discuss Chronic Disease Management use cases and data groups like interventions, health behaviours and social determinants of health. A big thank you to Melinda Wassell of Chiropractic Australia for presenting on behalf of the sector re defining allied health interventions. Is your profession on board to make sure the National Terminology Data Standards will enable you to share the important information you generate about your clients? #alliedhealth #digitalhealth Bronwyn Morris-Donovan Jackie O'Connor

🎉 Congratulations to Speech Pathology Australia and Dietitians Australia on this important advocacy! AHPA is proud to have both organisations as members. We also acknowledge that many of our members share significant concerns regarding the NDIS Lists of Supports and will keep members informed with relevant updates.
We did it! Together with Dietitians Australia, we achieved a significant advocacy win in securing essential clarifications to the NDIS Lists of Supports, ensuring that Australians with dietary and swallowing needs can access vital supports to eat and drink safely. It has been a day of insightful presentations and productive discussions in Canberra for the AHPA Members Day 2024! From aged care, disability and mental health to workforce strategy, and multidisciplinary team care, AHPA and our members have presented on a variety of critical topics, and heard from Anita Hobson-Powell (CAHO) regarding the current CAHO priorities. We look forward to seeing what the rest of the day brings. #alliedhealth #canberra

AHPA members Speech Pathology Australia and Dietitians Australia have written to the Hon. Bill Shorten, Minister for the NDIS, requesting urgent updates are made to the lists of NDIS supports. There are significant concerns the current NDIS Supports lists fail to address requirements of people with dietary and swallowing needs, leaving them without access to essential items, including modified fluids, thickeners, food processors and liquid aerators. To ensure people with disability can manage their dietary and/or swallowing needs, these items must be funded through the NDIS when prescribed by a qualified speech pathologist or accredited practising dietitian. Although this particular issue is most relevant to dietitians and speech pathologists, it reflects problems our various members are encountering with the transitional NDIS Support List. #4abetterNDIS #alliedhealth
