As we move forward from World Mental Health Day, we remain focused on the essential role mental well-being plays in creating a healthier, more supportive workplace and care environment. At People First Healthcare, we acknowledge the critical importance of mental health in both our work and the wider community. In the healthcare and aged care sectors, we witness firsthand the profound connection between mental and physical well-being. As caregivers, it's essential that we not only support the health of those we care for but also prioritise our own mental health and that of our colleagues. A strong, resilient workforce is the foundation for delivering compassionate and effective care. We understand that mental health is not just about awareness but also about action. That’s why we are committed to fostering an environment where mental health is a priority for our staff and consumers. From open conversations to mental health resources and support programs, we strive to make well-being a part of our everyday culture. As we reflect on this important day, we reaffirm our commitment to mental well-being and remind everyone in our organisation and beyond that seeking support is a sign of strength, not weakness. #MentalHealth #MentalWellbeing #PeopleFirstHealthcare #WorkplaceWellness #CareCommunity #CompassionateCare

Did you know that 4% of the entire UK population suffers with anxiety? However, only 1 in 4 people disclose their anxiety disorder to their employer. Our people and teams are at their most effective and creative when everybody feels psychologically safe and is seen, heard, and valued. By bringing together diversity and inclusion with health and wellbeing, we can drive positive transformation in workplace mental health and performance. Donatienne, one of our most experienced Mental Health First Aiders, shares her “Whole Self” as part of MHFA England®’s “My Whole Self” campaign. https://bit.ly/4aKPQfh We 💙 our people. #BaltimoreDNA #MentalHealthFirstAid #MHFA #MentalHealthAwareness #WorkplaceWellness #EmployeeHealth #MentalHealthSupport #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek

This #WorldMentalHealthDay, we are reminded of the growing importance of mental health and well-being in every part of life, especially in the workplace. This year’s theme, "It’s Time to Prioritise Mental Health in the Workplace", is a call to action for organisations and individuals to create environments where mental well-being is openly discussed, supported, and prioritised. This means supporting initiatives that encourage open conversations, building strong support networks, and offering resources that make a real difference. In support of this, today we have the pleasure of hosting Nicola Byrne, CEO of Shine: Supporting People Affected by Mental Ill Health, and Cathy Shah, Shine Ambassador, alongside our psychologist, Eugenie O'Sullivan, for a lunchtime discussion on mental health and stigma. They will explore how mental health stigma continues to impact individuals and workplaces, and how we can all work together to break down barriers and foster a more inclusive, supportive environment. Let’s take this World Mental Health Day to reflect on how we can all prioritise mental well-being in our workplaces and beyond. #WorldMentalHealthDay #MentalHealthMatters #WorkplaceWellness #EndTheStigma #StJohnofGodHospital #WellbeingAtWork #PrioritiseMentalHealth

As a Leave of Absence Specialist, I want to reflect on National Mental Health Day, which we observed last week, October, 10th. This day serves as a critical reminder of the importance of prioritizing mental health in our workplaces. It's essential to recognize that mental health challenges can impact anyone, and taking a leave of absence when necessary is a vital step toward recovery. Such a decision should never be viewed as a weakness; rather, it reflects strength and self-awareness. Empathy is key in creating a supportive work environment. By understanding and respecting the needs of our colleagues, we can foster a culture that values mental health and encourages open conversations. Let’s continue to advocate for resources and support systems that empower individuals to prioritize their mental well-being. Together, we can break down stigma and ensure that everyone feels safe to seek help when they need it. #MentalHealthMatters #LeaveOfAbsence #EmpathyInTheWorkplace

🌍 Today, on World Mental Health Day, I’m reminded of the importance of fostering an environment where mental health is prioritised and openly discussed. In the same way that we value our physical health, we must recognise that mental well-being is essential to thriving in our personal and professional lives. As healthcare professionals, researchers, and leaders, we have a responsibility not only to ourselves but also to our teams, colleagues, and communities. Mental health is a cornerstone of productivity, innovation, and compassion. Yet, despite its importance, many still feel unable to share their struggles due to stigma. Today, let’s take a moment to reflect on how we can be advocates for mental health in our workplaces and beyond. Whether it’s encouraging open conversations, offering support, or simply checking in with someone who may need it, every small step helps to build a more supportive and understanding world. Let’s continue to break down barriers, educate ourselves, and advocate for policies that protect and support mental health. Together, we can make a difference. #WorldMentalHealthDay #MentalHealthMatters #MentalHealthAwareness #Wellbeing
