So you've implemeted a new CRM but the teams aren't using it :( Such a common occurence and a problem in a large proportion of user orientated software projects. One of the most critical aspects of a successful CRM project, particularly with tools like HubSpot CRM, is user adoption. Without widespread and enthusiastic user engagement (imagine having enthuasiatic users - yes, really), even the most powerful CRM system can fall short of its potential. When should users start adopting the CRM? Much earlier than you might think. Successful adoption isn't just about training sessions at the end of the project; it's about involving users from the very beginning. At Karman Digital we've completely shifted the way we deploy CRM and the results are significant. We've gone all in on early user adoption, ensuring that users are continuously engaged throughout the implementation process. This means: 🔄 Frequent Iterations: Users provide feedback early and often, allowing for continuous improvement and customisation that meets their needs not simply the needs of the planning team building theoretical process maps. 🤝 Collaboration: Close collaboration between technical teams and users ensures that the CRM evolves in a way that makes sense for the 'on the job' challenges they face. 📈 Incremental Adoption: Users start adopting the system incrementally, getting comfortable with new features as they are rolled out rather than being overwhelmed by a massive change all at once. It's not all plain sailing as this often means a mindset shift in the way the client runs the project. It also means scoping is more open ended, but, and it's a big BUT, more value is delivered over the course of the project. A CRM is only as powerful as its adoption rate. Bit of an odd passion to post about, but hopefully some merchants still find it useful for their plans! 2.4.8 will be expected to come out April 8th 2025 coinciding with 2.4.4 having its final supported patch, so time to plan wisely 🦉 Patch schedule * October 8, 2024 (2.4.4, 2.4.5, 2.4.6, 2.4.7) * February 11, 2025 (2.4.4, 2.4.5, 2.4.6, 2.4.7) * April 8, 2025 (2.4.4, 2.4.5, 2.4.6, 2.4.7) * June 10, 2025 (2.4.5, 2.4.6, 2.4.7, 2.4.8) * August 12, 2025 (2.4.5, 2.4.6, 2.4.7, 2.4.8) * October 14, 2025 (2.4.5, 2.4.6, 2.4.7, 2.4.8) Proposed Upgrade paths (This is purely my opinion when it comes to getting the most out of a version you are on) *If on 2.4.4 in Feb 2025, upgrade to 2.4.7 as soon as you can. Great thoughts from The Drum B2B Fest from our very own Holly Hunter ❤️ I see so much value from seeing these points in action (particularly around the combo of agility and structure) and think our client team would agree. And one thing I think is missing from this list is transparency: transparency in scope, in results and in everyday communication. Transparency can be built into all of the below to really build trust and align expectations between teams.

'Bad strategy won't survive contact with reality'. Currently developing the strategy for a client engagement and I like having first principles to keep me honest. I love 'Good Strategy Bad Strategy' by Richard Rumelt for this. Good strategy honestly and courageously names the true problem we face. Then diagnoses it. Then finds the root cause. Then figures out how to turn that weakness into a strength. And finally has a plan to bring this to life. Bad strategy avoids naming the real problems and floats free of analysis or choice. It doesn't mean anything in reality. Richard's summary helps keep me honest, sharing in case it's of use for you too. Have you tried it? Audience first SEO - great talk at last nights Northampton The Marketing Meetup. Key takeaways for all marketers 👇 1. Put the customer back into all your marketing planning. Great example from the world of SEO, where keyword platforms and algo hacks have overshadowed considering what customers want, feel and need. 2. Know your customer (and prospects). What is there intent at key stages and why did they decide to use you? What could you do better to meet their needs? This insight can then drive all your planning. And the overlaps that occur e.g. a content plan which feeds (and is feed) from SEO, which drives email subject lines and content promotion.... and round we go. 3. Fish where the fish are. Show up where your customers and prospects will see you. And be creative in your solutions here. What forums, Facebook groups and events do they use to find and solve the problems they have (which your service can solve) 4. Be helpful to establish trust and authority first, before you start 'selling.' Great talk Harry Evans - both inspirational and really well delivered.
