I condensed my 5 most important business insights/tips from 25 years of marketing into 1 document. This was a handout I wrote in 2 hours for an interview by a British podcaster on how to optimise your business success with briefings, strategy, concepts, and AI. Feel free to download the handout I created – 100% without AI: https://buff.ly/3WPEFND #AI #LLM #Podcast #BusinessAdvice #CreativeStrategy #MarketingPersona #SocialMedia #IndustryBenchmarking

Veteran executive (and my friend) Beth Steinberg provides a wonderful compact summary of my Hidden Brain interview with Shankar Vedantam. As I think back on our book, and read Beth's takeaways, I'm thinking that one theme in The Friction Project I'd like to develop more is what Beth called "tour guides and translators," and we called "navigators"--those people who help us travel through complex, flawed, and downright hazardous organization in the least frustrating and costly, and most safe and efficient ways. We do talk about navigation is crucial work for friction fixers, especially when they lack the power to fix a flawed system, at least for now. We devoted the lion's share of the book to system repairs, but the fact is most of live in flawed organizations with flawed rules, technologies, and structures, and every workplace has "gunk people" who (intentionally or not) are best avoided if possible as they make life harder than necessary for others. Those precious people who guide us through the best and safest path--and show us what and whom to avoid along the way--are so crucial. I want to learn more about what makes them tick, their mindsets and skills, and how they can multiply.
Organizational psychologist, Stanford faculty, New York Times bestselling author, and speaker. Eight books including Good Boss, Bad Boss, The No Asshole Rule, and Scaling Up Excellence. NEW:The Friction Project.
My Hidden Brain interview with Shankar Vedantam dropped today. It draws largely on my book with Hayagreeva Rao, "The Friction Project." Shankar structured the interview (and editing), however, to frame the conversation around what it takes to lead teams and organizations so that they don't JUST develop pretty ideas, or engage in innovation theatre, but ACTUALLY turn ideas into action AND create organizations where people can do their work without being hobbled by frustration, fatigue, and despair. Shankar is perhaps the most well-prepared, and exacting, interviewer I have ever faced--he pressed me throughout to think about the implications and limits of our ideas. And he even asked about a couple examples in "The Friction Project" that I had forgot about! Shankar is a class act and master of his craft. https://lnkd.in/g5X_Yfnm

Part 1 of 3 JUST DROPPED! In this first episode, Zach talks about how we began our journey into AI, what AI is, what AI isn't (right now), how AI is changing business, and how businesses are approaching AI. Top tip from Zach Giglio: "The big mistake many companies make, is try to bite off more than they can chew. What you really need to do is find ways that technology can supplement existing workflows. In other words, to use this technology in what you are already doing." Take a listen, and let us know your thoughts. #AI #AIinBusiness #AIPodcast #AIinBusiness #ArtificialIntelligence #Podcast
