There's a LOT of chat about online sample quality at the moment. So I thought I'd join in. What are your opinions on sample quality? I'd love to hear your thoughts! https://lnkd.in/e6Hqmiau #mrx #dataquality #onlinesample

I think that people should have been talking about it from the start. Sample is generally absolutely awful, especially from some providers. It renders quant project findings next to useless, and pads out results with a lot of ‘filler noise’ and which stops people seeing the wood from the trees. You can perhaps see it a bit clearer now that many more statistical tests are being run on data which makes it more obvious and perhaps this is part of the reason for the drive, but I also think clients are tending to swing back to more qual which is eating into spend in quant and probably terrifying some quant focused companies. An interesting area, but one where I think there needs to be way more client education and probably more listening before we all jump to solution. I also think a lot of companies are coming out saying they’ve fixed it when it is systemic and they don’t even know what the challenge is.
