Dr.

Manish Bhartiya

Presented to you in this series of the Guest Corner, the abstract of the discussion held with
Dr. Manish Bhartiya, M.D., a Nehru college alumnus, of the 1989 batch, a leading practitioner
in Delhi. He is known for his humble and honest contribution in the field of Homoeopathy. He is
also the editor of the esteem monthly Journal Vital Informer and Member Editorial Advisory
Board, Indian Journal of Research in Homoeopathy, Official publication of CCRH, New Delhi.
He has been awarded with the life time achievement award by the Board of Homoeopathic
System of Medicine April 2016.
Q. How a medical journal can contribute in the growth of Homoeopathy?
R. Journals are the source and index of progress in any particular field. So is the case with
Homoeopathy. Through a journal u can share your experiences, discuss your problems and bring
such issues in lime light which are generally not taken care of.
Q. How important you find e-journal as a source of information in the present era?
R. In present era of electronic communication, e-journals are a great source of sharing information.
It is fast, minimum cost and infrastructure is required, no loss in transit as in surface mail. Things
can be placed and communicated in a better way as compared to print media. As it can incorporate
audio and videos.
Q. How you evaluate journals in recent times from the journals in the times of Hahnemann,
Boenninghausen and Kent.
R. It is very straight question. Answer to this is u can get by seeing the fate of reputed journals in
the past in Homoeopathy field. At the time of Hahnemann original thinking, genuine work and
experiences were shared. But, now days, I am sorry to say, publishing an article is just for the sake
of publishing it or to fulfill the academic requirements.
Q. From your experience of 30 Yrs, what kind of articles you think are most sort after?
R. Most sought after articles are which should not be. To clarify it, I will say most sought after
articles are those which give clear cut short cuts for treatment of any condition. People want ready
to give prescriptions. Patient has this problem, suggest some medicine, patient has skin issue, here
are his photos suggest medicine, like this.

Q. Which are the points that enhance the quality of an article for the homoeopathic fraternity?
R. First of all its genuineness, i.e. truthfulness of Author in stating facts, then its originality,
experience of the author and justification of his prescription if it is a case or original discussion
about the topic if it is a theoretical article.
Q. Which experience group physicians are more willing to seek information?
R. Very few youngsters are willing to learn. Most of them think that either they are perfect or
others know nothing. Those physicians who have practiced sincerely and have seen failures despite
their best efforts are willing to learn to find out the mistake.
Q. Your special messages to young homoeopath that may help them succeed as leading homoeopath.
R. There is no short cut to success. Only proper knowledge of our subjects can lead us to success.
Q. How teaching orientation at graduate and post graduate level should be upgraded to help
homoeopathy gain more in society.
R. Role of a teacher at UG level is not only to give knowledge to a student, but also to mould him
for future responsibilities, build confidence. We are utterly failing in these aspects of teaching. We
take teaching as only giving lectures about the syllabus and preparing the student to pass the
exams.
Q. Why a homoeopath should fail?
R. First of all, why a Homoeopath should fail? He should not fail at all.
But he should fail when
- he is not obeying the natures law,
- he is misguiding the patient about his illness and prognosis
- he is giving false assurances to patient and his relatives
- he is making unrealistic claims about cure.
- he is going out of domain of Homoeopathy, or he is not following the principles, or because of lack
of knowledge.
Q. How we can improve our e-journal and what do you expect from us.
R. It should have more of cured as well as failed cases, but with a Positive Attitude. We learn more
from our failures. It should also space for discussing day to day problems being faced by a
Homoeopath. You should invite problems!!!
Q. I Hope you have subscribed to this E journal.
R. Oh Yes, since inception.
Q. Your message to our team of e-journal.
R.

Good start. Keep it up. All the very best.
