Just call it protein. I ducked into this talk at the last minute and am so glad I did. What an incredibly knowledgeable panel from Synthesis Capital, Good Food Institute Europe, Anthesis Group, Forum for the Future and FAIRR Initiative. Our food system needs help to become more secure for future generations and reduce emissions. They agreed the approach must be diverse and inclusive, ensuring farmers are not shamed or diverted from what they are good at. The only real enemy here is factory farming and over reliance on a small number of proteins. We need to mix it up and keep it affordable. #innovationzero #altprotein #foodsecurity #netzero #plantbased #carbonneutral #sustainability #sustainable

Moving towards a more sustainable future with solutions from nature? We need to rethink our food systems and introduce new products and solutions in order to meet the worlds' major challenges when it comes to food. To transition to a more sustainable global food system, we need concrete solutions that will allow us to address issues such as: ✅ reducing methane emissions from cattle’s digestive processes, ✅ introducing plant-based alternatives to meat, ✅ promoting food production that demands less land and makes room for biodiversity, ✅ countering food waste, ✅ exploiting side streams from food production ✅ replacing traditional fertilizers and plant protection products with biologically based solutions. “Bioosolutions are based on nature's own tools and can be applied on an industrial scale. And in this way enzymes, pheromones, fermentation, biorefining as well as bacterial cultures can be used to drive the transition from a fossil-based towards a more bio-based economy,” says Jeppe Juul Petersen, Regional Team Leader in CEE for Food and Agriculture. 🌱𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐈𝐠𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 (𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐏𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐈𝐭)🌱 When we talk about 𝘴𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘢𝘨𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦, it’s easy to think it’s only about protecting the planet. But it’s about so much more. It's about 𝙬𝙝𝙤 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙥𝙖𝙮𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙚 when sustainability is ignored in our food systems. Consider this: 👉 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀 face unpredictable income and tougher conditions, often forced to choose between short-term survival and long-term sustainability. 🌐 👉 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 experience rising pollution and reduced water quality, often harming their health and economic opportunities. 🤒 👉 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀 ultimately pay through rising food prices and decreased access to nutritious foods as climate pressures impact yields. 🍇 👉 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 inherit a planet less capable of producing food reliably and a supply chain that prioritizes quick gains over enduring growth.🌍 🌐 We can all be part of the solution, whether we’re buyers, suppliers, or advocates. Supporting sustainable agricultural practices benefits us 𝘢𝘭𝘭—now and into the future. 👩🌾 Every dollar invested in sustainability today has a ripple effect on the health and stability of our global food systems tomorrow. So, how will you contribute to a more sustainable food system? 🌍 👇 #Sustainability #Agriculture #SustainableDevelopment #ValueChains #FutureOfFood

In the pursuit of a sustainable future, the food industry faces complex challenges—climate change, resource depletion, and a rapidly growing global population. Tackling these issues requires more than just individual solutions; it demands a holistic approach that sees the big picture. This is where systems thinking comes in. Systems thinking is the ability to understand the interconnections within a system—how actions in one part of the system can ripple across others. In the context of food sustainability, it's about seeing the entire food system: from farming practices, supply chains, and food waste, to consumption patterns and environmental impacts. Rather than solving problems in isolation, systems thinking encourages us to identify leverage points where small changes can lead to profound impacts. For example, shifting toward regenerative agriculture, improving supply chain efficiency, or innovating plant-based alternatives—all may seem like separate initiatives, but they are interconnected within the larger system of global food production. By embracing systems thinking, we can unlock innovative solutions that are not only effective but scalable. It helps us understand the long-term effects of decisions, avoid unintended consequences, and create more resilient, sustainable food systems. As innovators, entrepreneurs, and leaders in food sustainability, we must think beyond isolated interventions and approach challenges with a systems mindset. The future of food depends on it. #FoodSustainability #SystemsThinking #Innovation #SustainableDevelopment #RegenerativeAgriculture #CircularEconomy #InnovationForGood

Sustainability is ingrained in our processes. No pun intended. As we celebrate World Environment Day, let's pause and reflect. 🌱 From the food we eat to the products we use, our choices have a profound impact on the health of the planet. That's why, at Benexia, we've made it our mission to prioritize #sustainability in everything we do. From our zero-waste production processes to our reliance on solely rainwater for agriculture, we're committed to reducing our environmental #footprint every step of the way. Regenerative agriculture is a holistic approach that nourishes both the land and the communities that depend on it. We ensure that every #chia seed we source preserves the soil it grows in. 🌎 Take our chia oil, for example. Extracted through cold-pressing and without the use chemicals or solvents, it leaves behind a nutrient-rich residue that we don't let go to waste. Instead, we micro-mill it to obtain fiber and protein, taking advantage of the nutritional value of every seed and minimizing waste in the process! #zerowaste #regenerativeagriculture #chiaoil #Benexia
