News to share from France 🇫🇷 in the Renewable Natural Gas #RNGindustry. Veolia, Waga Energy, and #ENGIE have formed a powerful partnership to push the boundaries of sustainable energy production. Since May 1st, Waga Energy has been selling RNG produced at Veolia’s Val Pôle in Claye-Souilly to ENGIE under a #Biomethane Purchase Agreement (BPA), without government subsidies 👏🏼 This 13-year contract is the longest BPA ever signed in France, marking a significant milestone in the RNG market. Veolia supplies biogas from the Claye-Souilly landfill, one of France’s largest RNG production units with an annual capacity of 120 GWh, equivalent to the energy consumption of around 20,000 households. Waga Energy converts this biogas into high-value RNG using its cutting-edge technology. The RNG is marketed by ENGIE at a higher value than the subsidized price, highlighting the growing economic viability of renewable energy sources. This agreement also enabled Waga Energy to secure long-term financing from CIC and Arkéa Banque Entreprises et Institutionnels for the RNG production unit. Miya PAOLUCCI of ENGIE stated, “The signing of this new BPA contributes to ENGIE’s goal to supply 30 TWh of RNG per year to our customers by 2030.” This collaboration not only supports ENGIE’s ambitious goals but also accelerates the transition towards a sustainable energy future. Estelle Brachlianoff, CEO of Veolia, emphasized, “Veolia is a key player in the production of bioenergy, already producing 1.6 terawatt-hours of biogas from waste anaerobic digestion in France alone.” This partnership is a testament to the power of collaboration in driving innovation and sustainability in the energy sector. As the world shifts towards greener energy solutions, such initiatives are crucial for reducing our carbon footprint and fostering economic growth 🔝 #RenewableEnergy #RNG #Sustainability #CleanEnergy #GreenInnovation #Veolia #WagaEnergy #ENGIE #Bioenergy #ClimateAction #Irbisio #Cleantech

I am delighted to have signed a contract with Qair Group for the direct purchase of renewable #electricity ( #CPPA) from an agrivoltaic plant. An initiative that will add a new green energy supply capacity in northern France. Thanks to this initiative, not only Lesaffre will decarbonize part of its energy consumption in France, but we are supporting farmers by generating for them additional revenues. Step by step, we are multiplying our actions to meet our objectives of reducing the #carbon footprint of our value chain, through several initiatives : CPPAs , wind power, biomass heating and decarbonized steam, high power heat pumps... We will continue our efforts and I would like to salute the Lesaffre teams who are working in this direction on a daily basis to accelerate this virtuous approach. We are committed to reducing our scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 30% between 2019 and 2030 and we are committed to targeting carbon #neutrality by 2050. https://lnkd.in/eRK935TE

Europe! Acelen Renewables has set its sights on the demanding European renewable energy market. As an energy company, we are accelerating the production of specialized biofuels for the export of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and Renewable Diesel, both based on the macaúbe, a Brazilian native plant poised to become a primary raw material in the future. This week, our team is busy with a regulatory and commercial agenda, focusing on building stronger relationships with authorities and business leaders in Brussels, Paris, London, and Cologne. The purpose of these meetings is to promote transparency, facilitate negotiations, and explore new markets for our renewable fuels. Our project aligns seamlessly with the European market, ensuring traceability and certification from origin through processing and transportation of biofuel. Our commitment to innovation drives us to become global leaders in renewable fuels, with a focus on high competitiveness and the development of green upstream processes. We foster a high-energy culture that runs from seed to renewable fuels. #biofuels #energy #renewableenergy #renewablefuels #europeanmarket #europe

Today, we are taking another step towards decarbonizing our production sites in France. After a first CPPA signed in 2023 to supply green energy to the Group's largest yeast plant in Marcq-en-Baroeul, we are renewing our commitment by signing a second CPPA concerning our Biospringer by Lesaffre site in Maisons Alfort near Paris. Covering a forecast annual purchase volume of around 34 GWh, this additional #CPPA provides for the supply of green electricity from an #agrivoltaic project (synergy between agricultural production and photovoltaic energy) developed by Groupe Qair in the Hauts-de-France region. It will enable the Group to continue accelerating its energy transition by increasing the share of renewable energies in its energy supply.

While carbon capture technology has been developing rapidly towards a zero emissions future, actual storage and reuse options have been few and far between. The Vast methanol project with Calix Limited technology provides a pathway both to carbon utilisation and zero emissions fuel and chemical feedstock. This project is truly a world leader in the clean energy supply chain.
Pleased to share another milestone for our ground breaking Solar Methanol 1 project in Port Augusta after Mabanaft signed a Joint Development Agreement that will see them collaborate with us to develop the project. SM1 will have the capacity to produce 7,500 tonnes of green methanol each year. Methanol is one of the most versatile hydrogen derivatives which, if produced using clean energy, has the potential to decarbonise several hard-to-abate industries including shipping and aviation. We’re looking forward to working with Mabanaft and other project partners, including Calix Limited, to advance SM1 and demonstrate how Vast’s CSP technology can unlock low-cost green fuels. https://lnkd.in/gzjCfrRY

Germany’s THG Quota Legislation: A Game-Changer for Renewable Energy! Germany's newly approved THG (greenhouse gas) quota legislation signals a pivotal moment for the biofuel and renewable energy sectors. By prohibiting surplus GHG credit carryovers for 2025-2026, the reform tackles market distortions caused by oversupply, aiming to revive demand and stabilize investment. This move aligns Germany’s renewable energy strategy with EU RED II targets, supporting biofuel producers and fostering a healthier market environment. While the legislation offers immediate relief, industry stakeholders are calling for long-term solutions to ensure lasting stability and growth beyond 2026. The stage is set for a surge in demand for physical biofuels, creating opportunities for a bullish market trajectory. However, will this temporary fix lead to a more resilient framework in the future? The discussion is just beginning.
