🚛 Driving Heavy, Thinking Green 🌱 Iveco has led the way in CNG vehicle innovation, providing cleaner, more efficient solutions for heavy-duty transport. Their efforts continue to set the standard for sustainable logistics worldwide. The road to decarbonizing heavy-duty transport is evolving rapidly, with Bio-CNG leading the charge as viable, efficient alternatives for long-haul logistics. With innovative systems like Hexagon’s ProCab technology, operators can now leverage the space behind the cab for lightweight, high-capacity fuel storage without compromising operational efficiency or range. 💡 Key Highlights of ProCab at 250 bar: 🔹 4x2 trucks (4-tank system): Up to 1015 Mile range 🔹 6x2 trucks (4-tank system): Up to 825 Mile range Why it Works for Tanker Operations: 🔸 The behind-the-cab design is ideal for fleets with sufficient cab-to-trailer spacing. 🔸 Maximizes range while freeing up side-chassis space for PTOs or other equipment. 🔸 Designed with aerodynamics and efficiency in mind, aligning with evolving EU emissions and safety directives. This cutting-edge solution provides a clear pathway for tanker operators to transition to Bio-CNG, reducing carbon emissions while maintaining the flexibility and reliability required for heavy-duty logistics. Advancements like Hexagon’s ProCab technology remove barriers to adopting alternative fuels, enabling significant fuel savings and reducing carbon footprints. With no compromise on range or efficiency, it’s the perfect time for your business to transition to greener logistics and future proof your fleet. 🌍 #Sustainability #Iveco #AlternativeFuels #CNG #HeavyDutyTransport #Innovation #Logistics #Naturalpower #Sway #Guestmotors

Today, we continue exploring the latest trends in the biogas market with a focus on biomethane. Biomethane production hit a record in 2023, growing to 4.9 bcm, with an installed capacity of 6.4 bcm/year as of early 2024. This represents the biggest year-on-year increase ever, with a notable 21% growth in the EU area. Key highlights 👇 · 201 new biomethane plants were added across Europe in 2023, bringing the total to 1,510 biomethane-producing facilities. · Countries leading the way in growth are Italy, France, Denmark, and the UK. · Newcomers: Portugal, Lithuania, and Ukraine joined the biomethane-producing countries. With plants now operating in 25 European countries, biomethane is fueling the energy transition and boosting sustainability across the continent. Despite the figures confirming the growth of the sector, as well as its role in reaching climate goals and energy independence, a greater focus on the optimisation of market and regulatory conditions, including coherent planning of biomethane potential and faster permitting procedures, will be essential to ensure sustained growth in the coming years. Zemo Partnership today publishes a Delivery Roadmap for Net Zero Transport in the UK which sets out the interventions required across key policy areas to bring forward investment in zero emission technologies and low carbon fuels and promote low carbon travel choices. The Roadmap is the culmination of well over a year of consultation with the widest range of stakeholders in road transport’s decarbonisation transition, and takes an economy-wide, whole-systems approach to making net zero transport happen. It encompasses policies on upgrading the electricity grid, enhancing the UK’s skills base and opening up green finance. The commitment to increase the UK’s target for greenhouse gas emissions reductions to 81% by 2035 (vs 1990 levels) is ambitious but currently unmatched by the domestic policies necessary to achieve the target. This enhanced target demands even greater urgency in delivering emissions reductions from road transport and new policies to address the barriers to rapid transport decarbonisation are required. The Roadmap points to the areas where these policy interventions are most urgently needed. We would like to extend our thanks to all Zemo members who have contributed to the Roadmap. We look forward to working with you on future updates of the Roadmap and in further development of policy proposals. You can read and download a copy of the Roadmap below. The 14th EBA Statistical Report is out! In 2023, combined biogas and biomethane production reached 22 bcm. This is more than the entire inland natural gas demand of Belgium, Denmark, and Ireland combined, and represents 7% of the natural gas consumption of the European Union in 2023. At current production rates, Europe could avoid 🍃 106 million tons of CO2 emissions each year, provide renewable energy to 🏡 19 million European households year-round, and fuel 🚚 533,000 LNG trucks annually. Biomethane production alone grew to 4.9 bcm in 2023, with an installed capacity of 6.4 bcm/year by the first quarter of 2024. This growth marks the sector’s largest increase to date. Biomethane plays a crucial role in decarbonising high-energy sectors, and the industry also provides an important source of biogenic CO2 which can be used to produce e-fuels, sustainable chemicals, and support carbon capture and storage. 📌 In 2023, Europe could have utilised 29 million tons of biogenic CO2 based on the volume of biogas and biomethane produced in that year. This corresponds to 71% of the EU’s 2022 CO2 demand. While the figures confirm the growth of the sector and its role in reaching climate goals and energy independence, optimising market and regulatory conditions, including coherent planning of biomethane potential and faster permitting procedures, will be essential to ensure sustained growth in the coming years.
