The use of macaúba to produce renewable fuels is an innovative solution in the effort to reduce global warming gas emissions from long-distance means of transportation, such as airplanes and trucks. The SAF and HVO we are developing rely on technological innovations, sustainable feedstocks and cutting-edge research in order to further reduce their environmental impact. In addition, our technology enables these fuels to be used in existing transportation infrastructures, which ensures a more agile and economical transition. The world needs it. The future asks for it. We accelerate.

Acelen Renewables is one of the central players in the recently launched Brazil Platform for Climate Investment and Ecological Transformation (BIP), an initiative led by the Brazilian government with the support of such global organizations as Bloomberg Philanthropies and the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ). BIP was created to raise international capital and accelerate investments in such strategic sectors as bioeconomy, clean energy and industrial decarbonization. With a US$3-billion project to produce 1 billion liters per year of renewable fuels made from macaúba, Acelen acts as a key partner, reinforcing its commitment to energy transition and sustainability. “We were created to accelerate the global energy transition, with a robust and sustainable ecosystem,” says Luiz de Mendonça, our CEO. This project not only positions Acelen at the forefront of clean energy, but also supports Brazil in its decarbonization goals, and promotes a positive impact on the global energy future. We were honored to take part in the 1st International Congress and 2nd Brazilian Macaúba Congress, held from October 23rd to 25th in Campinas, SP, which highlighted the sustainability and potential of macaúba in bioeconomy. Our Research and Innovation and Agronomic Development teams were present at relevant moments: Ricardo Tinoco was a debater on the panel “Macaúba Horizons: Science, Technology and Policies for a Sustainable Future in the Bioeconomy”, and Dioger Teruel moderated the panel “Unveiling the Potential: Macaúba in Sustainable Development and the Fight against Climate Change”. Our teams also took part in all the event discussions, strengthening Acelen’s commitment to energy transition and decarbonization. We reinforce our commitment to innovative and sustainable solutions, such as the use of macaúba to restore degraded areas and its contribution to a cleaner future. #AcelenRenewables #Macaúba #Sustainability #Innovation #CleanEnergy

The construction of Acelen Agripark, our agro-industrial innovation center in Montes Claros, MG, is at full speed! With a total area of 138 hectares, this hub will be crucial for the development of renewable fuels made from macauba. Agripark will feature state-of-the-art technology, such as automation, artificial intelligence, and an advanced biofactory that will enable the production of up to 10.5 million seedlings a year. Each accomplished phase of this construction brings us closer to the future of renewable fuels and to the creation of sustainable solutions and hundreds of direct and indirect jobs. Together, we are transforming degraded land into clean energy sources while promoting socio-economic and environmental development. #AcelenRenewables #AcelenAgripark #Technology #EnergyTransition #Innovation #Sustainability

In partnership with the BNDES, we are investing R$314 million in the Acelen Agripark, a modern Agroindustrial Technological Innovation Center in Montes Claros (MG) dedicated to the development of macaúba. With the capacity to germinate 1.7 million seeds per month and produce 10 million seedlings per year, Agripark will be a research and innovation hub, focused on genetic improvement and sustainability at all stages of the production chain. Acelen and the BNDES are working together to drive the global energy transition and make Brazil a leader in the production of renewable fuels. #RenewableEnergy #SustainableInnovation #EnergyTransition #Sustainability #Acelen #BNDES #Macaúba #AcelenAgripark

In 2023 the international aviation industry established the goal of reducing the CO2 emitted in its fuels by 5% by 2030, and the challenge now is how to meet the global demand for biofuels. With Acelen Renewables’ sustainable feedstock and biorefining technology, we will extract oil from Brazilian macaúba and diversify the international biofuels market, offering a highly efficient, high-quality product on a large scale. With our investment, we will produce 1 billion liters of drop-in SAF (sustainable aviation fuel) and HVO (renewable diesel) per year, which are perfect substitutes for existing fossil fuels. The world needs it. The future demands it. We accelerate. Learn more at: acelenrenewables.com #SustainableFuels #EnergyTransition #Macauba #SAF #RenewableEnergy

Innovation in technology and knowledge are part of Acelen’s DNA and are essential characteristics that our team of experts brings. That’s why the world’s leading authority on agronomy and tropical crop management, Thomas Fairhurst, is also part of Acelen Renewables’ team. In his project with Acelen Renewables, Thomas is helping us with the ecological and sustainable intensification of macauba crops to increase their yield. In addition to restoring degraded land, our aim is to increase productivity on cultivated land. Thomas Fairhurst’s experience is extensive and he has worked for more than 40 years in tropical agriculture, which built up his knowledge as a field agronomist. He is also currently providing consultancy in South East Asia, Africa, South and Central America to small producers and large multinational companies. Together, we are taking another step towards expanding Brazilian macauba production and towards global energy transition. #SustainableAgriculture #Agronomy #TropicalCrops #EnergyTransition #SustainableFarming #Macauba #DegradedLandRestoration #GlobalSustainability #RenewableEnergy #AcelenRenewables
