🐋 A humpback whale has made one of the longest and most unusual migrations ever recorded by scientists! The male whale travelled at least 13,000km between distant breeding sites, spotted in the Pacific Ocean off Colombia in 2017, then again near Zanzibar in the Indian Ocean in 2022. This unusual route was possibly driven by the climate crisis depleting its food sources, such as krill, forcing the whale to travel further and take more winding routes.
