Cell-based mouse meat reaches price parity with premium pet food 🐈https://lnkd.in/gJxxaD4W "According to a report at Green Queen, BioCraft (formerly called Because Animals) said its cultivated meat now has a sale price of $2 to $2.50 per pound, on par with premium meat in pet food." In our 2019 Food and Agriculture report, we predicted "The pet food market is likely to be the first where cell-based meats are widely used and, because of its size, it will take material profits away from the animal-derived meat industry, thereby accelerating the wider disruption." (Box 9, page 31). 🚀 Read the full report for an in-depth understanding of the coming food & agriculture disruption by modern food technologies: https://lnkd.in/ggkB-Fjz

Lab-grown meat, cultivated meat, cell-based meat, slaughter-free meat: All of these terms refer to the process of creating real meat from animal cells, despite names that may allude to a vegan product. What benefits are there to growing meat from chicken cells rather than raising animals for slaughter? Industrial animal agriculture is responsible for an estimated 15 percent of total global greenhouse gas emissions, and with demand for meat projected to double in the next decade, this technology could offer a more sustainable option. Come with us as we step inside a lab-grown meat facility, and become some of the first to taste-test chicken that was grown in a bioreactor instead of on a factory farm. #sustainability #climatechange #food #engineering #manufacturing #labgrown #meat https://lnkd.in/g5sDPYMr

Cell4Food was recently added to the BioInformant Global Database of Cultured ("Clean") Meat Companies, 2025! 🌍 This is the world’s first database to include all known cultured meat companies, marking an important milestone in the evolution of cellular agriculture. 🌱 Cultured meat, seafood, and other cellular agriculture products offer essential alternatives to sustainably meet the world’s growing food demand. The goal isn’t to replace the entire food chain but to create innovative options that will be vital as the population expands. We’re proud to be one of many cellular agriculture companies contributing to this movement! ✨ 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gfazkkBS #CellularAgriculture #CulturedMeat #Innovation #FutureOfFood #Sustainability

I'm thrilled to announce the publication of my latest paper: "Examining the Potential of Cultured Meat: Technological Advancements, Sustainability Prospects, and Challenges" In this review paper, Dr. Ali Motamedzadegan and I discuss how cultured meat might be a better, more ethical, and less harmful alternative to conventional livestock farming that could help solve the world's food security problems. Highlights: • Cultured meat has a far smaller environmental footprint than conventional meat, according to life cycle analysis. • New developments in scaffold technology, tissue engineering, and bioreactor design are speeding up the commercialization of cultured meat. • However, there are still obstacles to overcome, such as finding cost-effective ways to scale up production, understanding regulatory frameworks, making sure the product is safe, and getting consumers to accept it. To fully realize the potential of cultured meat to enhance food security, nutrition, environmental sustainability, and animal welfare, we propose an interdisciplinary approach that takes into account scientific, technical, legal, and social factors. Read the full paper here: https://lnkd.in/dc6hF6Ta 💡 I'd be glad to discuss this topic further - feel free to comment or message me with any questions! #Cultured_Meat #Food_Security #Environmental_Sustainability #Bioreactor_Design #Scaffolding

The cultural construction of cellular agriculture food: through the lens of the whole-parts framework for meat Cultured meat requires a complete bottom-up process in producing objects, indicating that the concept of cultured meat is not necessarily aligned with the concept of existing meat, as previously suggested from the perspective of producing conventional meat. In this perspective, we proceed to further investigation the meaning of meat in cultural constructions, wherein the relationship […] The post The cultural construction of cellular agriculture food: through the lens of the whole-parts framework for meat appeared first on Cultivated Meat News . => https://lnkd.in/eV_e3Z3G #CultivatedMeat #News #CulturedMeat #Altproteins #Food #FutureOfFood
