Cell4Food was recently added to the BioInformant Global Database of Cultured ("Clean") Meat Companies, 2025! 🌍 This is the world’s first database to include all known cultured meat companies, marking an important milestone in the evolution of cellular agriculture. 🌱 Cultured meat, seafood, and other cellular agriculture products offer essential alternatives to sustainably meet the world’s growing food demand. The goal isn’t to replace the entire food chain but to create innovative options that will be vital as the population expands. We’re proud to be one of many cellular agriculture companies contributing to this movement! ✨ 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gfazkkBS #CellularAgriculture #CulturedMeat #Innovation #FutureOfFood #Sustainability

🔍 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞? Cellular agriculture is a method of producing animal products directly from cells, offering an ethical complement to the food supply without the need to raise or sacrifice animals. 𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐭 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤? Cellular agriculture can be divided into two main processes: 🧫 Cellular Process: This approach involves culturing cells taken from animals (or even plants) to produce muscle, fat, or other tissues in a controlled environment. The result? Cell-based meat, seafood, chocolate, leather, and even coffee—all without the animal. 🧬 Acellular Process: Unlike the cellular approach, the acellular process skips growing entire cells. Instead, it focuses on producing specific proteins or molecules—like casein or egg whites—using microorganisms such as yeast or bacteria. Through fermentation, we can replicate animal-based ingredients with precision. Here at Cell4Food, we believe that cellular agriculture can transform our food systems and lower our environmental impact. 🌍💚 𝐖𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦'𝐬 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞? 👉 Swipe through the carousel to see what cellular agriculture means to us! 📣 🎤 Reserva a data! #proteínasalternativas #agriculturacelular #carnecultivada EN 📣 🎤 Save the date! The 3rd Taste the Future will take place on November 27th at 1:00 p.m., with Dr. Filipa Soares. Join us to learn about cultivated meat and seafood field, in room QA1.7, Alameda campus, Instituto Superior Técnico. #alternativeproteins #cellularagriculture #cultivatedmeat 💬 Meet the speaker: Filipa is the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Cell4Food, the first Portuguese startup dedicated to developing cellular seafood products, with a primary focus on octopus. Filipa brings over 15 years of experience in commercial R&D and product development within the biotech and pharmaceutical sectors, specializing in biologics, regenerative medicine, and cellular agriculture. Her career includes pivotal roles at AstraZeneca and senior leadership positions at biotech startups, such as Ivy Farm (where she served as VP of Research & Technology) and DefiniGen (as Director of R&D). In 2020, Filipa created the first cultivated meat sausage prototype in the UK and potentially the first in Europe and the US. She has successfully launched market products, co-founded a biotech company, and holds a PhD from Cambridge University

🐟 Rui Rosa, Eduardo Sampaio, researchers from MARE - Centro de Ciências do Mar e do Ambiente and colleagues, have discovered that octopuses can cooperate with other fish species, even teaming up to hunt smaller fish and mollusks. This unexpected partnership, published in Nature Ecology & Evolution, shows that octopuses might even recognize specific opportunistic fish and use their arms to deter or exclude them from the group—a behavior captured in the video below by Eduardo. 🔬 These findings highlight the importance of preserving octopuses in their natural habitats and promoting sustainable, ethical practices. At Cell4Food, we’re dedicated to developing cellular agriculture techniques to produce octopus products, allowing us to enjoy these dishes without impacting wild populations. It's an exciting time for sustainable seafood innovation! 🌍 🔗 Read more here: https://lnkd.in/dNriRKSb #Cell4Food #CellularAgriculture #FutureOfFood #SustainableSeafood

🚨 Today, we address Hungary's recent proposal to ban cultivated meat, following Italy's lead last year. Such actions raise serious concerns about the future of sustainable food production in Europe. Despite no cellular agriculture products currently on the European market, there is strong scientific evidence supporting their safety, taste, and nutritional value. These bans lack a solid foundation. Innovations like cultivated meat aren't just alternatives; they are crucial for meeting the rising global food demand, as traditional supply chains already face immense pressure. The European Commission has rightly criticized these bans as "unjustified" and potentially damaging to the single market. As we strive for a more sustainable food system, embracing cellular agriculture is vital, not obstructing its progress. At Cell4Food, we are committed to advancing cellular seafood products, creating ethical and sustainable options to alleviate pressure on overfished marine ecosystems while prioritizing food safety and environmental responsibility. As the regulatory landscape evolves, it's essential for policymakers and consumers to understand the transformative benefits of these innovations for our collective future. Join us in advocating for a forward-thinking food system that meets tomorrow’s needs while respecting our planet’s resources. 🔗 Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/drbrjKEu #Cell4Food #CellularAgriculture #FutureOfFood #Sustainability
