Cultivated food bioreactors are systems used to grow food products, such as meat, dairy, and other animal products, from cell cultures in a controlled environment, without raising and slaughtering animals. These bioreactors provide the necessary conditions—such as temperature, nutrients, and pH levels—for the growth and multiplication of cells into edible tissues. The process begins with the collection of animal cells, which are then nurtured in the bioreactor with a growth medium that supplies essential nutrients. Over time, these cells proliferate and can form tissue structures similar to conventional animal products. Cultivated food bioreactors represent a key technology in cellular agriculture, aiming to produce sustainable, ethical, and potentially healthier food alternatives while reducing the environmental impact associated with traditional animal farming, such as land use, water consumption, and greenhouse gas emissions.
