Here's how you can navigate salary negotiation during the interview process.
Many states there are laws that now protect the job seeker from being asked this question. 1st know if you are covered in your state and are protected. Kindly remind the person of the law that protects you from this question. OR You can say that salary is not a subject that you are comfortable discussing at this point in the interview. OR You can also state that you are looking to be paid commensurate with what the role is paid with internal equity and external benchmarks. OR If you are afraid the job is under where you are willing to accept tell them where you are and that you don’t want to waste anyone’s time if it will not meet your salary requirements. A few ways to play it you pick what feels right to you. Good luck!!🍀

What do you do if you want to research a company before an interview?
Research the company by starting with their website. 1. What do they value? Does it match what you value? 2. What does the leadership team look like? Are they diverse? 3. Check out Glassdoor (it's like yelp for companies) you will see some negative & positive what is the overall vibe? Does it match your workstyle? 4. Use LinkedIn connections find people that work there ask them what it's like. Ask for introductions to recruiter / hiring manager. 5. Find out about who you are interviewing with research them. Where did they go to school, where they worked, what was their career path. 6. Find out about the culture you don't want to roll up in a suit if its jeans & t-shirts. 7. Prepare questions write them down interviews are 2 ways!

What's the best way to help employees communicate their skills and accomplishments to potential employers?
Talk about accomplishments. Explain how, what and who were involved in said accomplishments. Explain the timeline, deliverables and if you were able to keep on target if you didn't why and how did you adjust to ensure success. If you are speaking on your accomplishments, you can explain what you learned and would do differently if you had the opportunity.

How can you create accountability during a transition?
I have experienced communication of a new vision a few times in my career. It is critical to get everyone on the same page quickly. It is important that everyone understands the objectives. More importantly the why and how their role impacts the overall mission and how this new direction is connected. If the team understands the why they will more quickly get on board. Allow them to ask questions and have multiple conversations to ensure everyone truly understands what and why they are being asked to do.
