Coaching helps people reach their full potential, our horses accelerate progress. Energy plus intention leads to change.

About us

Equine Led Coaching Coaching for leaders and individuals based on interactions with horses. Horses have a natural and well-honed ability to read their environment and the energy that those around them bring, which means they can sense inconsistency between our feelings and our actions and help us to recognise when we are not being true to ourselves. Horses are prey animals that have been on this planet for 50 million years and they have depended on highly attuned senses to survive. They can pick up on our energy and sense our presence from a remarkable distance. Horses like to feel safe. What helps them to feel safe is congruence and presence. Horses can’t talk, they don’t have ego’s and they don’t make judgements. They respond to humans based on the energy we bring, and their reaction to us can provide powerful feedback to how we show up. They show us what is on our inside, gently nudging us to become our real self. The dynamics of relationships, trust, leadership and life are experienced when working with horses. Equine Led Coaching is an experiential learning experience, embodied and powerful. It gets us past our stories and reasoning to the core of what we need. If you want to explore how you show up and connect with others, how to build trust or strengthen your leadership and are open to new insights and discoveries then equine led coaching could be perfect for you.

  • Our herd are enjoying their festive break, doing what they do best, playing in their natural habitat! I appreciate all they do with us over the year, they have enriched our lives and made more than we’d imagined possible. I’d also like to thank Alison Lincoln for partnering with me in this work and being such a fabulous co-facilitator. Wishing all our clients, friends, partners, colleagues and of course, horses a very happy Christmas - we’re excited to see what 2025 brings!

  • As we’re being blown towards the end of 2024, the winter elements reminding of us nature's power, I am grateful for my herd and for my wonderful community supporting me as we build a new business, and bring people the opportunity to develop themselves and their teams in the presence of horses. My herd have been amazing, and I learn something every time we work together. More on them next week... 🐴 There are many people to thank, I’d like to highlight a couple. Kerrie Fleming, who brings a passion, energy and care for horses that I continue to find remarkable. She is open to new ideas and encourages me and others to continue to improve what we do on a daily basis. I simply could not do it without her. Secondly Fiona Lund, who from day one has been unswerving in her belief I can make this work and has supported me on many levels. Thank you both and thank you to all the others who have been alongside me and I hope will continue to be so. My overriding reflection as we end 2024 is that finding your community, your tribe, standing up for what’s important to you and supporting others to do the same is something worth celebrating. 🥂

  • The Committed Team Our final team coaching session of the year and huge kudos to this team who braved the elements to explore how to improve their performance. A few insights were: 🐴    Being able to be ourselves and be honest out how we are in the moment is critical to team connection. 🐴    How much impact the energy we bring has on not only our motivation but that of others too. 🐴    How we can remain connected with each other even when we are apart 🐴    Responsibility for performance sits through the whole team 🐴    Leadership can come from anywhere in the team and shifts in response to the environment. We did have warm up breaks and there was the option not to go out to the field for the final part of the session, but everyone voted to get back out there with the horses, who were once again amazing partners in learning. Followed up by a very tasty lunch at our local pub The Winterbourne, a cracking way to round off our day. We’ve built equine coaching into this teams performance plan for 2025 and we're excited to see where this will take them. Fiona Lund, MD of Brouha Marketing concludes: “This was our second time out as a team with Caryl, Alison and the fantastic herd. Despite the inclement weather, we had two really valuable and insightful sessions with the horses which provoked some positive and constructive discussions around how we work as a team. “Equine Led Coaching provides us with a completely unique insight to how we work individually and as a team. It’s very difficult to describe the process, as no two sessions are ever the same. Observing the horses and the way engage with each other is fascinating. Both times it has mirrored how we’re preforming as a team and after each visit, we have been able to build on the experience. We look forward to working more with Caryl and her team in 2025 to help us further connect as a team and complement each other’s approach, so ultimately, we perform well as a business.” #equineledcoaching #teamcoaching #teamdevelopment #teambuilding #equineled

  • 🐴 Welcome to our newest addition 🐴 Our lovely filly Caffi joined us last week 💗. She’s a youngster, so is now out in the field with her mates, chilling out and enjoying some autumn grazing. Next month we will bring her in so we can get to know each other better. She’s a little shy, but curious and likes a good scratch on her neck. We're taking our time establishing a firm foundation from which we can build a productive relationship - it's a slow process, but our patience will pay off in the long run.

  • Equine Led Coaching: The client perspective – when the client is a coach themselves….   “I was curious but open to see what happened, and it turns out what happened was quite possibly the most powerful experience I’ve ever had. “I’ve just experienced Equine Facilitated Coaching with the wonderful Caryl Roberts and two equally special and perceptive horses called Orla and Nally.   “You might wonder how on earth this could have been so powerful. Well for me this experience tapped into and exposed how I truly felt and who I truly am far quicker than any ‘conventional’ coaching session I have ever had (despite a little bit of tussling on my part as to whether I wanted to let any of the truth out). Then with the skilful facilitation and expertise of Caryl, these feelings and experiences were gently but powerfully explored in a safe, and non-judgemental way. “I felt truly seen throughout this experience as the horses beautifully reflected or responded to the changes in how I was feeling as I slowly let the real me emerge and be felt, seen and heard. The horses also quite literally created the most relevant and appropriate spaces in which I could explore, experiment with and safely expose parts of me that are usually (but perhaps unhelpfully) very well controlled and contained.   “Hopefully with the help of Caryl Roberts and Alison Lincoln (who introduced this whole approach to me and is also an exceptional Equine Facilitated Learning Practitioner), I plan to incorporate this wonderful resource into my coaching offer. “I highly recommend other coaches take the time to experience Equine Facilitated Coaching because I believe it will add so much to your life both in your personal development as a human being, and in your professional development as a coach. I say this because I thought I was doing everything I could to look after myself and make sure I was in a good place (you know eating right, exercising, sleeping, taking care of myself) so I can be wholeheartedly present in all my conversations with my clients, but it turns out I hadn’t been looking after ALL of me. The horses showed me the parts that needed attention and with Caryl’s help have given me so much insight , acceptance and excitement for what’s both currently in my life as well as what’s coming next. These are feelings that have not been present in me for quite some time. This is why the world needs Equine Facilitated Coaching and imho we need to get more people experiencing it.”   Steph Tranter, Executive Coach & Leadership Consultant

  • Equine Led Coaching: The Coach perspective – it’s all about you and the horses My job as an Equine Coach is to be an outside observer. To notice and draw your attention to what I notice. Often, the sessions start with a goal or an intention to explore a particular topic or area of your life, but with the proviso to keep an open mind to what else might come up. And let me tell you, more often than not it is the something else that comes up that is of core importance. 🐴 What about the horses I hear you ask, how do they fit in?  Horses, as prey animals, have evolved to be aware of what is going around them be that in the wider environment, amongst the herd or the energy that we humans bring with us, and they react accordingly. My role is to notice what is happening for the horses, bring that into your awareness and ask what sense you make of what you are observing. This is the important bit – it doesn’t matter what I think, it matters what you think because therein lies the insight. The beauty of this work is I don’t need to know what goals, topics or areas you want to work on. That’s your stuff. My job is to provide the space for noticing, insight and reflection. This is not a head exercise, this is a whole body experience which is why many people come away from even just one session feeling changed. • Equine Led Coaching: The Client perspective – it’s all about awareness. As a coach, just like my clients, I’m committed to my ongoing development. I also receive coaching and my recent experience of an equine coaching session I had with my herd Rocky and Nally and facilitated by Alison, an Equine Coach, provided the opportunity for the following insights: 💡 Slowing down, being in nature allowed me to see, hear and feel things I miss in the everyday bustle, and that small things do matter. 💡 The space and openness gave me licence to roam, physically and emotionally, exploring boundaries, blocks and enablers. This expanse gave me a different perspective. 💡 The horses tracked me throughout and even though they were out of my awareness at times, we remained connected. I remembered that even when we’re inwardly focused, we’re always part of something bigger. 💡 The presence of the horses enabled me to let go of something that had been weighing on me, a deep sadness. I was sat on the ground, Rocky came across and gently nuzzled my head and softly blew out a few breaths. I felt a shift, a release and a flow of new energy. He returned to his grazing and I have stepped forward with a new sense of purpose and energy. 🦋 My one word after the session was metamorphosis, I felt changed by the experience.
