  • ✨ Our webinar ‘Researcher careers across borders’ took place this morning, with fantastic speakers Johanna Stadlbauer, Teresa Rosas, PhD, Xavier Eekhout Chicharro and Jo Bowler.    🌍Johanna, from the University of Graz, outlined what is best, and not best, to do when presenting researchers with career options outside of academia, including the need to be sensitive about how hard researchers have worked to make themselves employable within academia. 🌍 Teresa, from CREAF, outlined the lessons learned in supporting researchers’ career transitions, and the importance of mindset shifts for researchers in how to approach their careers. 🌍 Jo, from Developing Business-Aware Academics, emphasised the work they are doing to help businesses, non-profits and policy organisations to realise the full potential of the UK’s research and innovation talent. She especially stressed the need for researchers to turn their ideas into action. 🌍 Xavier shared the work being done in Europe by EURAXESS to develop researcher careers, focusing on three crucial areas of talent attraction, relocation and professional development of researchers. 👏 Thank you to all who attended the webinar and for sharing your comments and resources in the event chat – the engagement was fantastic and of great value. 🏆 👀 If you enjoyed today, you may be interested to learn more about our new peer learning for researcher developers across Europe scheme.
