We're Hookflash. We are an award-winning digital optimisation agency, helping our clients get the most from their website through analytics, SEO and web experimentation. We previously helped to build one of the largest and most well-respected digital analytics agencies in the UK. Our founders have over 35 years combined experience in the field and are passionate about helping businesses win with data. Whether you use web analytics tools like GA4 or Adobe Analytics, product analytics tools like Mixpanel or user experience tools like Contentsquare or Hotjar, we can support with set-up and use. We use analytics to understand where barriers to conversion exist and to identify areas of opportunity. We use SEO to continue with diagnostics on where the site could be improved and start rolling out optimisations. And by tying the previous two disciplines with experimentation, we take make sure changes are tested and hypothesis are validated. Our aim is to help drive action, based on data, and increase revenue for businesses through better understanding customers and how they react to media, CRM, app and website experiences. We are determined to build the best place to work in digital optimisation. A place where time is not just set aside but actively encouraged, to focus on innovation, learning and development.     A triangle is the strongest 2D shape. Largely due to the fact that each side is supported so well by the other two.     It's that time of year when LinkedIn becomes THE platform for posting your Christmas socials right, so here's ours! Another wonderful social, this time courtesy of Migrateful - a wonderful social enterprise that supports migrants and refugees integrate into the UK. And at the core - FOOD. You cook together and then eat together - two of my very favourite things. Ninsiima was star of the show, not only for being the person to suggest it but as my partner in making Manti. If you don't know what they are, it's hundreds of tiny dumplings, made using 1mm dough rolled out into about the size of a stamp and wrapped around some mincemeat....

    Growth starts outside of your comfort zone -here's what I've learnt stepping beyond mine 🚀 Over the past few weeks the #wie initiative has challenged me to creatively be loud and proud about the world of Experimentation. Here are some lessons I've learned along the way: 💡 Consistency is key- the more you do something the easier it gets 💡 Experiment with different formats- don't be afraid to test what works and what doesn't 💡 Don't put too much pressure on your content -for the most part if you find it interesting at least one other person will too ...ofc the analyst in me had to put some metrics to the experience too A huge thank you to Marcella Sullivan and Daphne Tideman for amplifying amazing work happening in our field 🎤 You'll continue to hear more from me for sure! #wie #convertXwie #speakup

  • We love a good trends report and the Contentsquare trends report is always a good one. Ninsiima Rukandema goes through her findings and there's some fantastic stats there. The summary - the value of a customer's experience has never been more important. Authentic and relevant experiences, rooted in data and understanding, are the keys to building relationships (and winning more generally!).

    What's the point in great deals if the shopping experience is frustrating?   It’s the biggest shopping event of the year, but not everything goes as planned. So far, I’ve come across: ❌ Discounts on products... that aren’t actually discounted 🚪 A whole website shut down in preparation for black Friday—forcing users to leave the site without being able to set up any way they can be notified for when the sale starts 🤷♀️ Black Friday deals that might be amazing... if only they were clearer about being Prime exclusives. 🎄 And the cherry on top? Our office Christmas tree, advertised as “green,” arriving in a unexpected pastel pink. This serves as a reminder that amazing offers alone aren’t enough—user experience has to be just as competitive.     We're in the Black Friday peak season and are asked to set up 8 new properties for reporting by market 😬 Normally that would frighten me, but fortunately for us it's a 5 minute job now! ⚡8 Properties ⚡30+custom fields each ⚡Dozens of custom events to add to GTM ⚡A totally custom channel grouping that would take hours to replicate across each property. ⚡Not to mention all the config changes you need to make to ensure a good setup All of that can be done in the time it took for me to write this post with our new automation tool. We haven't got a name yet but internally we're calling this Aule after the builder/smithing god from Tolkien's Lord of the Rings because we're all nerds... #Automation #GA4 #LordOfTheRings

    Unassigned traffic in #GA4. Yep, it can be as simple as using a Custom Channel Grouping. But there's a number of other reasons why this can, and does, occur.
