Since November 1995, the Recording Academy Florida Chapter has been representing the Florida and Puerto Rico music communities and connecting artists with the shared vision of making their own unique mark in music. Since then, the Chapter has been an integral part of the region's music industry, expanding its presence throughout a state that has one of the most diverse, talented, and fastest-growing music communities in the country.
The Florida Chapter has a wide range of Latin American musical influences, with key figures such as Gloria Estefan, Juanes, Bad Bunny, Rosalia, J Balvin, and Karol G.
The Chapter also reaches music communities throughout the state including Gainesville, Jacksonville, Orlando, and Tampa. Traditional and southern rock roots grow deep, anchored by artists such as Iggy Pop, Alter Bridge, Trivium, Underoath, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Tom Petty and more.
Adding to Florida's music mix is a constantly evolving urban scene represented by nationally-recognized artists including DJ Khaled, Betty Wright, Trina, Flo Rida, Lil Wayne, and Rick Ross. Florida is also an integral part of the electronic music community and boasts both the Ultra Music Festival and III Points Music & Arts Festival in Miami.
Many of these artists, including the Bee Gees, Bob Marley, and The Eagles have recorded at Miami’s premiere recording studio, The Hit Factory Criteria, founded in 1958.
The Florida Chapter, in partnership with its local elected leadership, delivers programming and networking opportunities to artists, musicians, songwriters, producers, engineers and other music industry professionals throughout Florida.
Please take a few minutes and explore not only what the Florida Chapter is doing, but what all the Chapters have to offer in the way of professional development and opportunities for our members.
