Data for good: Are women underrepresented in clinical trials? Are there specific health conditions that affect women more ? Can data and AI be leveraged to derive insights into understanding these health inequalities better? How does the NHS England address this in terms of obtaining high quality data to derive insights? These are some of the questions we will be addressing as part of a panel focused on women's health inequalities during the Women in Data® Flagship event on Mar 7th in London. The panel will feature Natalie Cramp Jennifer Visser-Rogers Mridula Sori Camellia Williamson, Harini Gopalakrishnan and Janet Broome. I am excited to be moderating this discussion with women from diverse perspectives who work with health data everyday. If you are at the event please join us 16:30 pm in the Arcadia Room for an insightful evening! You will have an email from the Women in data team with the app link to sign up for breakout sessions. You can also join the event waitlist in the link below: https://lnkd.in/dVxdjB7K Thanks to Amie Bakker and Roisin McCarthy for the wonderful event and their support in providing a platform for this meaningful discussion. I recently had the chance to attend a Digital Health event organized by Digital Health Institute for Transformation (DHIT) dedicated to Empowering Women in Health & Innovation. It was a delight to listen to Kimberly Hames as she shared invaluable insights on community engagement and highlighted the value that women bring towards enhancing health and technology. Here are some key takeaways that I would like to share: 🎓 Educating women around health literacy is essential in order to provide better health outcomes. 🏥 Understanding the components of quality care empowers women to advocate more effectively for their own health needs. 👩🏻⚕ Addressing unconscious biases by care providers is important to ensure all voices are heard, regardless of an individual's race or ethnicity. A quote from the speaker that deeply resonated with me and that I intend to carry forward in my journey within the healthcare industry is, "Every leader within the health ecosystem holds power to play a pivotal role in shaping the healthcare system" ❗️Finally, women's health shouldn't be a topic to be discussed in the #WomensHistoryMonth alone; instead, it is crucial to take proactive steps towards fostering inclusivity and equity within the healthcare system without further delay. #WomenInHeath #DigitalTransformation #FutureOfHealthcare

*Link below for more information and sign-up* What makes thousands of women to seek health advice on online forums instead of from their doctor? Why is there so much uncertainty about what is 'normal', what symptoms should or should not be tolerated? And why do many women e.g. feel solely responsible for reproductive health? 💪 A Call to Action for Gender Equity in Healthcare Innovation The transformative article from Healthcare Transformers highlights a critical issue: the historical neglect of women's health research and innovation. It's a clarion call for healthcare leaders to prioritize equity in women's health, recognizing gender as a pivotal variable in medical research, treatment, and innovation. From my perspective, the urgency to address this imbalance is not just about fairness; it's about harnessing a full spectrum of human potential. When we empower women's health with data and innovation, we're not just improving individual lives; we're elevating entire communities and economies. The article underscores the role of data and technology in expanding women's healthcare beyond reproductive issues, providing comprehensive evidence for better healthcare decisions. It's a compelling argument for why women's health is integral to global economic growth and why universal access to sustainable healthcare innovations is essential to bridge the health gap. For those who are passionate about creating a more equitable future, this article is a must-read. It's a powerful reminder that when we empower women, we empower humanity.
