Current mindset: Look beyond coding and launches. Absorb your feature that you're trying to build. Question it in the first place: is it something that you think is a good experience or customers want it really? After the launch, is data collected upto the expectations? Wear multiple-caps, don't just be a backend engineer, be a Software Engineer. "When you say you've implemented and launched a feature, in true sense, it is actually a starting point for a lot of software-engineering related things."

I take my software engineering title too seriously. As a front-end engineer: "I don't know anything about our database schemas or caching logic, go ask our backend engineers." As a backend engineer: "I don't know anything about state management or how our APIs are used, go ask our front-end engineers." I found myself saying these phrases over and over again without thinking it might be helpful to know a thing or two about the other domain. Oddly enough, when I started learning more about the backend, it made it easier to understand why things weren't working on the front end. When I started learning more about the front-end, we had less late-project surprises about decisions we made on the backend. At the end of the day we're all software engineers and software engineers solve problems. #coding #programming #alexcancode

🚀 LeetCode Daily Challenge 6/100 🚀 📊 Medium 🎯 Problems: Rotate List, Remove Duplicates from Sorted List II 💡 Solutions: - Remove Duplicates from Sorted List II --> Iterate through the linked list to find duplicate values --> if a value is the same as the next value, add it to a set called duplicates --> Iterate through the linked list again --> for each node, if its value is not in duplicates, add it to the new linked list --> return the new linked list, or null if there are no non-duplicate values. - Rotate List --> find the length of the linked list --> calculate the actual rotation amount k by taking k % length --> if k is 0 or the linked list is empty, return the original linked list --> move the fast pointer k steps forward --> move both fast and slow pointers until fast reaches the end of the linked list --> set the next of the end node to the head node to form a circular linked list --> update the head to the node next to the slow pointer and set the next of slow to null to break the loop. 🚧 Complexity Analysis: - Remove Duplicates from Sorted List II Time complexity: O(n), where n is the number of nodes in the linked list. As a Backend Engineer I always strive to develop scalable, secure and robust APIs using topnotch software engineering best practices. I however struggled while attempting to achieve this earlier in my career. I would hold back on asking questions and wouldn't share my thoughts either. Subsequently, I would have several back and forths each time I implemented a feature with colleagues. Communication was my problem. An awesome colleague gave me the needed drive to finally make the big moves with intentionality. Chiazam Dim ❤️. How I helped myself improve my communication skills; I, 1. Took LinkedIn courses on Communication and Leadership at Work. 2. Watched YouTube videos on effective communication and public speaking. 3. Started living my dream by practicing with everyone I interacted with. 4. Worked on my poise and posture since it affected my confidence and consequently how I communicated my thoughts. I follow Woman of elegance channel on YouTube and the channel is extremely helpful. 5. Replaced old bad habits with new manners and etiquettes I Iearned from Tiktok. fromtheinsideoutsoe stands out for me. With this intentionality, I have helped my listeners/colleagues by not putting them in awkward situations where they struggle to understand me. They can focus on listening to me and give appropriate feedback as required. It's a win win situation. I'm still on this journey but it's a beautiful thing to share with you all.
