Hi connection, Today I Solved too hard question 502. IPO Problem in LeetCode uSing Swift.... ✴Intution:- Here we are going to be using a greedy approach where we prioritize projects based on their profits while considering the capital constraints. ✴Approach Initial Check: If the initial capital is sufficient to undertake any project (i.e., it is greater than or equal to the maximum capital requirement), simply sort the projects by profit in descending order and select the top k projects. This can be achieved by sorting the profits array and summing the top k elements. ✴Greedy Selection with Capital Constraints: Create an array of tuples combining the capital and profits arrays. Initialize the current capital to the given initial capital. Iterate up to k times to select projects. In each iteration, find the project with the highest profit that can be afforded with the current capital. If a project is found, add its profit to the current capital and mark the project as used by setting its capital requirement to a very high value. If no affordable project is found, break out of the loop early. ✴Complexity Time complexity: The time complexity of the approach is dominated by the need to find the most profitable affordable project in each of the kk k iterations. If we assume there are nn n projects: Sorting the profits array initially (if the initial capital is sufficient) takes O(nlog⁡n) In the general case, each iteration requires scanning through the projects, leading to a time complexity of O(k⋅n)O(k \cdot n) O(k⋅n). Thus, the overall time complexity is O(nlog⁡n+k⋅n). After 4 years in industry and multiple interviews, things that helped me crack Adobe Goldman Sachs Meesho and many others (ascending order of priority): 1) Lot of DS grinding, and yes even memorising solns to some of the problems. 2) Confidence , that you can gain only after multiple rejections and attemps. 3) Timings, when I was in job shifting mode, market was in high demand. Yes, the most important factor was easy interview opportunities , no shame in admitting it. Had I started my career today, I would be doing a lot of tussle to even get an interview call. If you are someone who is starting/ just about to enter the industry, its totally okhy if you are getting less number of interview calls, just be calm and know no industry is forver down, apna time bhi aayega! #Paytm employees have taken to the Ministry of Labour and Employment after their unfair layoff without any proper severance package. We all have been reading the brutal layoffs news for the past 2 years; one where the CEO just shows up on the Zoom call to fire 80% of the company or where security guards show up after a conference and employees are escorted. In some cases, they find a legal loophole by forcing you to admit that there was a performance issue and putting you in PIP and thereby crushing your self-confidence and then saving some money by not paying their dues after firing you. There are companies that treat their employees like trash and expect the general public to buy the narrative of "We are a family". If an employee absconds a company then it is frowned upon in the industry, the companies scare you with a bad relieving letter or failed background checks in the next company and yet these same companies face no consequences when they happily ruin the financial and mental status of their so-called "family members". With privatisation on the rise it is high time that we all voice for better labour laws in #India so that people can work peacefully. Given a string s, you need to sort it in decreasing order based on the frequency of the characters. The frequency of a character is the number of times it appears in the string. Return the sorted string. If there are multiple answers, return any of them. Hard to digest, but Zepto raises $665 million at $3.6 billion valuation ! What would they do with this funding ? Doubles the count of Dark Stores. Seriously . A terrible business idea once inspired from US based startup Webvan, with unfavourable macro indicators , low margin and no ease of operations, now stands at whopping valuation. Why did they get the funding though ? This inflated valuation of such unsustainable businesses is maintained by the VCs' only to sell it to manipulated public in IPOs. Tomato IPO is the best example. The apps like Zepto/BlinkIt is solving a problem which we never have. Create a problem and solve it. These app are not just a delivery app, they are addiction. May be addicts can help them breakeven. Recessionary Trends in the IT Industry: In 2024 placement are even down than 2023 placement. the company that came for intern/full time placements are offering less CTC and hiring less intern/full time engineer compared to last year. Reason of recession in placement might be due to following reason  1. Global Economic Slowdown - The prevailing global economic slowdown is a significant contributing factor to the downturn in placement rates.  2. Winter Funding - Seasonal fluctuations in funding might also be impacting hiring decisions in the industry. 3. Old Way Of Teaching (like We are still learning engineering drawing using drafter, but very modern technologies are way ahead than even Autocad, Fusion360 etc. that uses AI and AR for drawing and modelling). As many college don't reveal exact placement data due to fear of failing NIRF ranking. I've some insider information. Let's discuss about harsh reality in placement of top iits, and nit's : 1. NITK - Reports from seniors indicate that only 50-60% of B.Tech students secure placements, shedding light on the challenges faced by graduates.(This includes all student who register for placement) 2. IIT Delhi - One of my friends studying at IITD said that, Students are not getting CTC what they deserved and even they are getting placed late relatively. 3. IIT Kanpur - As from recent data(Again get this data from my friends studying at IITK), only 72% Btech students are placed, means rest people will either try off-campus placement or will consider for going higher education. 4, IIT Bombay - As from Hindustan times report, 36% student are not placed.(probably Mtech included), Companies that come in wee1 or 2 are now coming in week 6 or 7. Industry Insights:- -> according to Goldman Sachs Research, 20% The probability of a U.S. recession in the coming year has declined, as recent economic data signal that bringing inflation down to an acceptable level will not require a downturn. -> Major IT companies like Infosys, Wipro, TCS, HCL Tech, and Tech Mahindra are hiring fewer employees compared to the previous year, except for TCS. ->The McKinsey Health Institute's 2023 survey highlights that 59% of Indian respondents reported experiencing burnout symptoms. Proposed Remedies: ->Education institutions should embrace cutting-edge technologies like AI and ML to equip students with relevant skills -> Government policies should support colleges and universities in updating their syllabi to align with evolving industry demands. -> Even in IIT's and NIT's, We have only 10-20% courses are experimental based. Mostly we forgot theories as semester got over. -> According to talent solution company NLB Services, in upcoming time there is chance of 8-10% growth in IT sector. I hope at our time, at our time placement condition improves pretty much. P.S :- We should keep focusing on s enhancing our skills and adaptability to thrive in the evolving landscape of the IT industry. 😊

What is Idempotency? . . . Suppose you have an App that has the concept of a wallet, the user can spend coins from the wallet and buy some merchandise from the app. One of your backend services is consuming events from a message broker, this event deducts X coins from user's wallet. After deducting the balance from the wallet, the service is supposed to send the acknowledgement to the message broker that it has consumed the message and the message broker should send the next message. But somehow before sending this acknowledgement, the service crashed. Because of a fancy failover strategy service got restarted and asked the message broker for events to consume. Since the message broker didn't get the acknowledgement at that time, it will send that event again to the consumer service. Okay! So now double the amount of coins has been deducted from consumers. We can say that we executed the same event twice. Ideally after the execution of the first event, all the duplicate events shouldn't have any effect on the system. This Ideal behaviour of the system is called Idempotency. But how to achieve Idempotency? May be in the next post. If you are planning to buy/rent a Livpure India RO filter, do checkout this post first My Experience with Livpure’s Ro Rented Filter I want to share my recent experience with Livpure, hoping it serves as a cautionary tale for others. In July this year, I purchased a Livpure RO with a Gold Plan offering 225 Litres/Month. I recharged for 6 months, totaling 1350 Litres. Initially, everything seemed to work perfectly. However, after just two months, I received a notification stating my entire 1350-litre quota was exhausted—something that seemed impossible. Upon contacting customer care, they admitted there was a technical issue causing faulty readings and over-reporting water consumption. Livpure provided a temporary fix by recharging 100 litres and sent a technician to repair the machine. Post-repair, the machine showed a more accurate daily consumption of around 12 litres. Before the repair, it had falsely reported 20-40 litres per day, far more than what I actually consumed (I usually refill my filte of 7 Litres capacity 1-2 times a day, which is well below 14L/day). Now, despite the issue being acknowledged, Livpure refuses to compensate for the litres I never used, claiming I must pay extra to continue beyond the exhausted limit.even though this allegedly overuse was clearly due to their faulty machine My concern is simple: Why should I be charged for water I never consumed due to a faulty machine? I urge anyone considering Livpure’s services to be cautious, especially when opting for long-term plans.
