"Hey there, code wizards! 🧙♂️ So you're binge-solving LeetCode problems, thinking it's the secret sauce to becoming a coding superstar? Not so fast, my friend. These companies hiring based on LeetCode scores might just be rounding up a bunch of not-so-stellar coders. Even our buddy ChatGPT can whip out solutions to a heap of those problems. Here's the real lowdown on what makes a killer Software Engineer: - Chatting it up right and tight 🗣️ - Packing empathy like it's going out of style 💖 - Playing nice with the team (It ain't just about you, buddy) 🤝 - Having opinions that sway with the breeze 🍃 - Knowing your industry and product like the back of your hand 🤚 - Boosting your team to the winner's circle 🏆 - Giving more than you take 🎁 - Penning down epic docs and tests 📝 Think you got a counter-argument? Bring it on! 😎 #codinglife #leetcode #100daysofcode

Continuously investing in becoming a LeetCode master, won't make you a better developer. Companies that hire based on LeetCode, are hiring really bad software engineers. ChatGPT can solve a big set of those problems, as of now. What makes you a great Software Engineer is: - Communicating properly - Being empathetic - Being a team player - Having "strong opinions" but weekly held - Understanding the industry and the product you're working on - Contributing to your team's success - Being a giver - Writing proper documentation and tests Prove me wrong! 😎 #code #leetcode #100daysofcode

🚀 Mastering Problem-Solving Through LeetCode and CodeChef 🚀 In the ever-evolving tech landscape, developing strong problem-solving skills is more crucial than ever. Whether you’re an aspiring software engineer or a seasoned developer, platforms like LeetCode and CodeChef provide invaluable opportunities to sharpen your algorithmic thinking and coding prowess. But how much time should you dedicate to truly excel? 🔍 Consistency Over Quantity: Instead of focusing solely on the number of problems solved, prioritize consistent practice. Aim for at least 1-2 hours a day dedicated to tackling problems, analyzing solutions, and learning new concepts. Quality practice—where you reflect on your mistakes and understand diverse problem-solving techniques—leads to mastery. 📚 Structured Learning: Start with fundamental problems to build a strong base, then gradually advance to more complex challenges. Many successful problem-solvers create a study plan or follow curated problem sets to ensure a balanced approach to learning different algorithms and data structures. 🌟 Focus on Understanding: It’s not just about solving problems but also about understanding the underlying principles. Spend time analyzing different approaches, reviewing others' solutions, and optimizing your code. This depth of understanding transforms problem-solving from a skill into an art. 🤝 Engage with the Community: Join discussions, participate in contests, and collaborate with peers. Engaging with the community can provide new perspectives and motivate you to push your boundaries. ⏳ Patience and Perseverance: Progress in problem-solving is gradual. Celebrate small victories and learn from setbacks. Persistence is key to overcoming challenging problems and achieving proficiency. By dedicating time to structured, quality practice and engaging with the community, you can enhance your problem-solving skills and stand out in the competitive tech world. Embrace the journey of continuous learning and enjoy the growth that comes with it! #ProblemSolving #LeetCode #CodeChef #AlgorithmicThinking #SoftwareEngineering #ContinuousLearning #TechSkills #geeksforgeeks #leetcode #commentforbetterreach #trendings #google #amazon #codeforces #codechef #connections #linkedin #hr #softwareengineer #webdevelopment #java #react

An extremely weird phenomenon I see among software engineers is that they become prisoners of LeetCode. Like everyone else, they'll grind out data structures and algorithms (DSA) problems to pass the interview... ...but even after getting the offer and starting their new role, they continue to study LeetCode "just in case" they lose their job and have to reenter the market. Every hour spent on DSA is an hour that's been completely wasted not actually getting better as a software engineer. It doesn't matter if you can pass every interview if you don't ever learn how to build quality software and contribute to a team (instead of being distracted by eternal DSA suffering). If you want your career to go anywhere, drop the LeetCode as soon as you can and build up real, core engineering skills. #leetcode #softwarengineering

Tips for getting a good job!
Unless you really want a big tech job, You don't need to grind 1000 hrs on leetcode problems. 👇🏼 Instead get good at these 5 things: 1/ Building real-world applications 2/ Practicing your communication skills 3/ Learning how to break down complex problems 4/ Understanding the fundamentals of systems design 5/ Building relationships with engineering leaders in the industry Don’t spend all your time on leetcode, there’s more to engineering. I’ve never spent an hr doing Leetcode, and I’ve had an incredible career. Even working for a startup that was acquired for $187,000,000. What skills have helped you in your career I missed? One leetcode a day keeps unemployment away. As a software engineer, you've likely heard about this saying. But is it true? For me, practicing leetcode helps improve problem-solving skills and apply algorithm knowledge to specific problems. Deep understanding is key, not just the number of problems solved. #SoftwareEngineer #ProblemSolving #Leetcode #AlgorithmKnowledge

Very unpopular opinion: 1) LeetCodez should only be used for internships and entry level positions, structured after what is being taught by the higher education mafias. 2) Midlevel and above should have code assessments that actually reflect the day-to-day work of the position, like how to parse through json data, how to implement a simple REST API, how to create/update/query a database, debugging, refactoring
