Interesting question from John Daly - I’m in the “it depends camp” Sure, you can align cultural fit with diversity, but clarity is key. If an orgniation’s culture champions flexibility, innovation, and customer focus, then bringing in diversity of thought and lived experience can enhance and push that culture forward. On the flip side, if your culture is more homogenous, introducing diversity becomes tougher because the foundational culture doesn’t change just by adding different people. To truly make this work, we need to clearly define culture, goals, and the inherent biases our hiring managers might bring to the table. Only then can you assess how and if you can achieve both. How do you feel #HR and #Culture leaders? #organizationalculture #deiatwork

Does recruiting for 'cultural fit' promote diversity & inclusion? This is a topic that comes up from time to time with our clients. I'm asking this here on LinkedIn because being able to gather differing and diverse perspectives is one of the best things about this platform. Does the type of role matter? Is it a simple yes / no answer? #culturalfit #recruitment #hrrecruitment

We recognise that the recruitment industry plays a key role in championing D&I across the industry, as agencies often form the backbone for hiring strategies worldwide. ☝️ Diversity and Inclusion is an organisation's superpower, which is why we spend time partnering with organisations who share our same long-term vision towards inclusivity, diversity, and how this can impact your hiring strategy. To ensure that we continue delivering this mindset to our partners and the tech community, we continually investigate new processes and challenge the industry. 💭 We feel confident with our services, but as a business, we believe we can always strive to do more with inclusion strategies across the industry and within recruitment. Inclusion shouldn't stop at "targeted differences." Certain disciplines, levels of experience or career tenures are often subject to exclusion and bias. Inclusion first means everyone feels safe, valued, heard and productive. I read in a course called "Diversity Recruiting" that organizations dedicated to diversity should integrate feminine language into their job descriptions. Terms like collaborative, supportive, and empathetic rather than active, outspoken and decisive can attract a more diverse talent pool. By using inclusive language, we break down barriers and build a more balanced and dynamic workforce. Small changes in language can lead to significant impacts on organizational diversity. What are your thoughts on this approach? #Diversity #Inclusion #GenderEquality #HRBestPractices

🌍 National Inclusion Week 2024: Building an Inclusive Hiring Process 🤝 As Recruiters, it is essential that we create an inclusive hiring process, ensuring that at every stage we are creating an environment where all candidates feel valued, respected, and supported every step of the way. Here are a few ways to promote inclusivity in hiring: 1. Write Inclusive Job Descriptions: Use neutral language and focus on the skills needed for the role. Avoid gendered terms or unnecessary jargon that may discourage certain groups from applying. 2. Diverse Interview Panels: Ensure your interview panel reflects a variety of perspectives. This helps to create a fairer assessment and makes candidates feel more represented. 3. Accessible Hiring Process: Offer accommodations for candidates with disabilities, such as flexible interview formats or assistive technologies. 4. Ongoing Education: Provide regular training on unconscious bias and cultural competency for your hiring teams to ensure they are continually improving in their approach. Inclusion in hiring is more than a trend, it is a commitment to building a workplace where everyone, regardless of background, can thrive. Let’s work together to ensure every candidate feels like they belong!
