#EducationForClimate TALKS Let's continue our series of summer replays and listen today to the inspiring words of François Taddei who was with us a year ago to share his views on green education. François is the founder of Learning Planet Institute, but also a researcher in evolutionary systems biology, needless to say, he knows what he's talking about when he says this (see this nice quote). Our education and training systems must evolve and adapt, otherwise they might not survive... That means that if education is essential to support the green transition, it is also necessary to make a transition in education. The 2 things go hand in hand. In other words, green education is obviously about boosting green competences, but also, more broadly, about transforming education, a much more ambitious objective that can easily be combined with others because innovation can serve several goals (which is also a good way of lightening the load on educators' shoulders).  Wise words. ⚡ Exciting Possibilities for Educational Impact ⚡ Greetings LinkedIn community! I've been engaged in some thought-provoking conversations lately with dedicated individuals facing the challenge of navigating transition as ESSER funding concludes. As we reflect on the incredible strides made in addressing student needs, it's clear that now is the perfect moment to evaluate our systems and strategically plan for the future. One remarkable aspect of the ESSER funding was its rapid deployment to address urgent gaps in our education system. This urgency, while commendable, often left little time for thorough planning and evaluation. We were collectively figuring out how to "build the plane as we flew it," with sustainability planning taking a backseat. As we find ourselves at the new intersection of progress and reflection, it is so important that we think about how we face the pending funding cliff and prioritize our efforts to continue to support students. To do that we need to understand the effectiveness of implemented strategies and identify those most likely to sustain impact as funding levels return to pre-ESSER levels. Having recently transitioned to Marzano Research, I've witnessed our team's dedication in collaborating with districts, schools, states, and stakeholders. Together, we tackle the challenge of comprehending the impact of initiatives and pinpointing areas for sustained improvement, recognizing the urgency in making critical decisions about resource allocation.I invite conversations with all of you on leveraging this moment to celebrate achievements and thoughtfully consider the next steps, both locally and across the field. Whether you're grappling with effective resource channeling, understanding initiative impact, or need guidance in reviewing your system and creating a strategic plan, let’s connect. So, before you get starry-eyed over a school’s ranking, ask yourself: Who’s doing the research that makes you geek out? Which labs are making waves in your field? And where can you find that magical combo of #resources, #mentors, and a #community that actually gets your nerdy enthusiasm? Remember, your #PhD isn’t just a fancy title—it’s a full-on adventure. You need the right crew, the right tools, and the right map to make sure you’re not just surviving but thriving. So, ditch the rankings as your only compass and start exploring what really matters.
