⚡ Exciting Possibilities for Educational Impact ⚡ Greetings LinkedIn community! I've been engaged in some thought-provoking conversations lately with dedicated individuals facing the challenge of navigating transition as ESSER funding concludes. As we reflect on the incredible strides made in addressing student needs, it's clear that now is the perfect moment to evaluate our systems and strategically plan for the future. One remarkable aspect of the ESSER funding was its rapid deployment to address urgent gaps in our education system. This urgency, while commendable, often left little time for thorough planning and evaluation. We were collectively figuring out how to "build the plane as we flew it," with sustainability planning taking a backseat. As we find ourselves at the new intersection of progress and reflection, it is so important that we think about how we face the pending funding cliff and prioritize our efforts to continue to support students. To do that we need to understand the effectiveness of implemented strategies and identify those most likely to sustain impact as funding levels return to pre-ESSER levels. Having recently transitioned to Marzano Research, I've witnessed our team's dedication in collaborating with districts, schools, states, and stakeholders. Together, we tackle the challenge of comprehending the impact of initiatives and pinpointing areas for sustained improvement, recognizing the urgency in making critical decisions about resource allocation.I invite conversations with all of you on leveraging this moment to celebrate achievements and thoughtfully consider the next steps, both locally and across the field. Whether you're grappling with effective resource channeling, understanding initiative impact, or need guidance in reviewing your system and creating a strategic plan, let’s connect. Please reach out if you're interested in learning more or want to share your insights on how you're approaching this critical phase in our collective educational journey. Together, we can pave the way for sustainable and impactful solutions. #EducationLeadership #ESSERFunding #EducationalImpact #MarzanoResearch #StrategicPlanning Want to learn more about where I am now? Excited to see the release of the FUture Focused 2024-2029 strategic plan! Here are just a few things we are/plan to be doing in Campus Rec. & Wellness that are tied to this plan: Priority One - University of Innovation & Impact ✔️All frontline CRW workers undergo an annual performance review tied to 8 career readiness competencies. ✔️ CRW student workers are exposed to real-world work environments by utilizing Teams, enforcing policies, accountability, etc. ❓How can we measure our impact? ❓Are there credit-based partnerships? Priority Two - Thriving Community ✔️Facilitating small-scale renovations to create an inclusive and inspiring campus environment. ✔️Elevating student leaders to manage facilities, programs, and be the first line of response to policy enforcement and conflict. ✔️Developing nontraditional programs in nontraditional recreational spaces to reduce barriers of participation and meet students where they are. Priority Three- Sustainable Future ✔️Seeking out revenue generation opportunities that add value to the CRW mission and further support student outcomes. ❓How can CRW align with the newly clarified University brand? ❓How can CRW help broaden Athletics' impact? There is much, much more to unpack from this strategic plan, and we look forward to folding this in with our divisional priorities.

🚀 A research by Lídia Serra, José Alves and Diana Soares delves into the complexities of our educational system, revealing how tensions and disjointed mechanisms can make schools operate like pseudomorphic systems. 🏫🔍 🔎 Key Findings: ➡️ Schools need a structured, intentional approach to leverage self-knowledge for better teaching and learning outcomes. ➡️ Innovation is often undervalued in school organizations and evaluations. ➡️ There are significant inconsistencies in external evaluations and school organization. 💡 Takeaway 👉 This study underscores the need for deeper interconnections within educational systems to foster genuine change and avoid traditional structures masked by modern discourses. 📚 Want to learn more? Many people do research without being aware of the hidden premises of the practice: Why are some ideas considered scientific knowledge and some not? Why are the “fathers” of various scientific disciplines, more often than not, Western males, even though people of different cultures and genders also made important contributions to our shared intellectual legacy? Why do the “hard sciences” develop rapidly while the “soft sciences” or “academic but non-scientific disciplines” seem to progress barely? Why did many systemic human-induced tragedies occur along with the dawn of modern science and technology? How might this history help us reevaluate our relationship with research today? Of course, there are many more crucial questions like these that are taken for granted or never discussed in research/scientific method classes. I believe that the Re-imagining research panel at Ecoversities’ Re-imagining Education Conference would be a great place to explore these issues. Honored to be invited to join this important discussion. For anyone who also cares about these issues, I look forward to talking to you during the session!
The Re-imagining Education Conference (REC) is an annual 4-day long intensive online gathering, convening people across geographies, knowledge systems, and experiences. REC is organized within and throughout the large web of the Ecoversities Alliance, a coalition of educators, learners, practitioners, communities, weavers, and dreamers from a plurality of worldviews, backgrounds, and experiences. This session will feature researchers from different backgrounds and explore modes of research that might stretch our notions about how and why we research. Through themes like Indigenous cosmologies, imagination, and play, the conversation has the potential to expand our understanding of research possibilities. @Rutendo Ngara, Four Arrows aka Don Trent Jacobs, Adler Yang, Phoebe Tickell, Edgard Gouveia Júnior Sign up here Sign up here https://lnkd.in/efjmendt Check the schedule here https://lnkd.in/epVAvbMu #reimaginingeducation #education #educationconference
