The initiative’s mission is to bring warmth, comfort, and a sense of community to women in need this holiday season by gifting each resident a handwritten holiday card alongside comforting essentials such as: - Fuzzy socks and slippers - Blankets and pillowcases - Stuffed animals - Journaling and art supplies - Yoga supplies - Travel-sized toiletries Sunny and her team of volunteers will personally craft beautiful, handwritten letters for all 100+ residents. It’s a small gesture that can make a huge impact, and they need our support. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽: 1. Read Sunny’s proposal: https://lnkd.in/e8kk7rSA 2. Globally, an estimated 736 million women — almost one in three — have been subjected to physical and/or sexual intimate partner violence, non-partner sexual violence, or both, at least once in their life. This scourge has intensified in different settings, including the workplace and online spaces, and has been exacerbated by post-pandemic effects, conflicts, and climate change. The solution lies in robust responses, including investment in prevention. However, alarmingly, data on how much nations are committing to counteract violence against women and girls remains glaringly sparse. For instance, just 5% of government aid is focused on tackling violence against women and girls, and less than 0.2% is directed to its prevention. Volunteering is one of the most meaningful ways to give back to our communities. What many don’t realize is that the skills and experiences we take for granted in our daily work can be transformative for startups and other organizations. Think about it: your project management expertise, social media savvy, finance acumen, or even your ability to organize and motivate a team can provide tremendous value to organizations striving to make a difference. What may feel routine to you could be exactly what an organization or startup needs to streamline processes, amplify outreach, or achieve goals they've struggled with due to limited resources. Volunteering isn’t just about the time you give, it’s about the unique strengths you bring to the table. Sharing your talents not only enriches others’ lives but often leads to personal growth, a deeper sense of fulfillment, and connections with like-minded people who share your passion for making an impact. World Children's Day, also known as Universal Children's Day, will be celebrated on November 20, 2024. The day was established in 1954 by the United Nations General Assembly to promote children's welfare, raise awareness, and promote international understanding. It's celebrated on November 20 because it's the day the UN General Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child in 1959 and the Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1989. The theme for World Children's Day 2024 is "Listen to the future". This theme encourages adults to listen to children's ideas for a better world, understand their priorities, and include them in actions today. #WorldChildrensDay #ListenToTheFuture #YoungInnovatorsROCK #ChildrensWelfare

Key messages you should know on World Toilet Day 2024 Toilets are a place for peace. This essential space, at the centre of our lives, should be safe and secure. But for billions of people, sanitation is under threat from conflict, climate change, disasters and neglect. Toilets are a place for protection. By creating a barrier between us and our waste, sanitation services are essential for public and environmental health. But when toilet systems are inadequate, damaged or broken, pollution spreads and deadly diseases get unleashed. Toilets are a place for progress. Sanitation is a human right. It protects everyone’s dignity, and especially transforms the lives of women and girls. More investment and better governance of sanitation are critical for a fairer, more peaceful world. Be part of the global campaign called ‘Toilets – A Place for Peace’. You can help raise awareness and drive action to tackle the sanitation crisis. Download resources to get involved and find out more about the connection between toilets and peace. #Sanitation #WorldToiletDay #HumanRights #SDG6
